~Y/n's POV~
Something was wrong.
From the times I've side-along teleported, I knew this wasn't how it was supposed to go. I felt like I was suffocating, and the scenery around us was distorted and kept changing.
For a brief moment I thought I saw the entrance to the infinite house, but it disappeared before I could tell. Finally, I felt us hit soft marshy ground and I fell to the ground.
I was breathing in deep gulps of moist air, coughing when I took in too much too fast. My vision was blurry from hot fat tears, they spilled down my face and into the already wet grass.
I felt something touch my back and flinched, but calmed down at once when I saw it was just Ink. He wasn't looking at me, but around the place we had landed.
"I can't immediately tell what AU we're in... we're gonna have to search around." He said while rubbing my back.
I finally could breathe normally, but the tears kept flowing. I looked around the room as well, this was definitely Waterfall. The crystals in the stone glittered innocently.
I sobbed harder, seeing the stone reminded me of Gaster's stone body getting smashed right in front of me. With a gasp of realization, I pulled out the sliver of soul that he had given to me.
It was getting dimmer, because it's host had now perished. Ink saw it too, and gave a start.
"How did you get that?! How is it not cracking?!" He exclaimed loudly.
"Ga-Gaster gave it to me... Right before he... but he can't be dead! He just can't!" I stood up, the soul still hovering in my palm.
"Y/n... you saw him. It just shows how powerful Nightmare is." He wrapped an arm around my shoulder, but I pushed it off. How could he not see that there's no possible way that he could be dead! He wasn't even really living in the first place.
I walked away from him and pretended to look at one of the crystals, but I wasn't really. My mind was struggling to comprehend everything that had just happened.
What was I thinking? Why didn't I just try to get back? We didn't discover anything, and Gaster... no he wasn't dead. He'll be here any moment, saying that he couldn't be killed. It seemed bizarre thinking that he could. He was so wise, so powerful, he just couldn't be dead.
"Um... well we better find out where we are." Ink murmured, standing up as well.
For some reason, I felt extremely upset with him. I felt numb with grief, a grief I shouldn't be feeling. He wasn't dead... he wasn't dead... But the stone statue kept cracking in my head, over and over, until I felt like I was going to be sick.
"Fine. Whatever." I muttered, my arms crossed over my chest. I didn't want to go anywhere, I just wanted to... what did I want to do? Everything just seemed so pointless now.
Ink looked at me with increasing concern, but I refused to meet his eye. He grabbed onto my hand, but I felt too bothered to let go. Reluctantly, he let me around the seemingly abandoned Waterfall.
There was absolutely nobody around, which made me feel better. We approached the area where I had hidden from Dust all those long months ago... I had met Gaster around here. But I didn't see the gray door that he was behind, or even the hallway. I felt my shoes fill with water as we walked through the water, there were no rocks to avoid.
Finally, we approached Snowdin Town. It, too, was completely empty and deserted. I looked at the surroundings, not really taking them in. The only item that did draw my attention was something hot pink lying in the snow.
