Chapter 37

"That's no trouble." Nightmare chuckled and before he could do it, I teleported to take the hit.

It stung, a lot. But I was still standing. I glared at Nightmare, my breathing heavy as I put a hand to my bleeding side. It wasn't too deep, luckily.

"You're gonna have to try a little harder than THAT." I shouted, and as if I were a battle horn both forces charged at each other.

I was going against the plan for some stupid reason. I was taking Nightmare head-on. Somehow, I wasn't dead yet. Probably because Ink and Dream were backing me up.

I sent Blaster after Blaster at him, but he dodged it like it was nothing. All of his attacks were targeted at me, probably because I was the easiest to take down and I would cause the most emotional damage to the rest.

I was standing my ground, though. I was using magic I didn't know I could use, my adrenaline was the only thing fueling it. Bones were spewing from my body relentlessly, and I was glitching more than ever. The combined powers of Gaster, the tiny bit of Error in me, and my fierce loyalty to our cause was overwhelming.

I took another hit to the arm, this one much more painful than the rest. I cried out, but kept fighting with all of my might. We needed to hold him down so Dream could force the apple into his mouth.

I absentmindedly dodged bones and beams from the others battle. I could see a few bodies on the ground, luckily I didn't recognize any of them.

In my slight distraction, Ink pushed me out of the way so I was forced out of the battle. I knew he was just protecting me, but I still felt furious.

My anger was increased as I saw HL fighting Lust. Lust was obviously losing, but was still trying to fight.

I rushed over to him, protecting him with a Gaster Blaster to take any hits. HL looked confused until he spotted me running straight at him, he tried to slash me with his axe but I ducked under his legs. I grabbed his leg and made him trip and land onto the ground back-first, I had only a split second to decide if I wanted to spare him.

I grabbed the axe out of his hand and raised it high above me, ready to strike. HL shut his eyes in fear, ready to die.

I slammed the axe right next to his skull, purposely missing. He flinched and opened his eyes to see the axe mere centimeters from his face.

"Stay down or I won't be so merciful." I threatened, giving him a good kick in the crotch. He winced but nodded.

I looked around for more people to assist, my heart dropped as I saw Blueberry on the ground, Underswap Pap was over him with tears running down his face.

I ran full speed, avoiding a few bones in the ground. I slid on my knees to see that Blue had a giant slash across his chest. His breathing was rough and uneven and tears formed in my eyes as well.

"Take this." I said, giving him a piece of Monster candy that I had snatched before battle. Pap took it and helped feed it to Blue, the result was almost immediate. The wound seemed to shrink by the tiniest degree and his face relaxed a little. He would be okay... I hope.

"Here, go behind the boulder. I'll protect you." I said, looking behind us as I saw dust accumulating in the air. Had someone died? Or was it just Dust making, well, dust appear?

Paps took Blue in his arms and I put a circle of Blasters around us. I was starting to get tired, but I ignored it. Now was not the time for exhaustion.

Once they were safely removed from sight and the battle, I left to assist more who might be wounded. I was starting to have difficulty breathing through the dust and my vision was definitely limited. The only light was the sun, still shining above us like a beacon of hope.
