We took shifts. 2 people every 3 hours. And if you had to go to the bathroom, you had to bring a friend. First shift was Percy and I, he had fallen asleep on my shoulder though so he wasn't much help.

Which lead me to another conclusion.

That boy had been sleeping a worrying amount. Gods aren't supposed to need sleep, but Percy was sleeping every other hour.

I poked at the fire with a stick. Something was up, and I didn't like it. Demigods can be assholes, I know because I am one, but gods are cunts when it comes down to it. Especially when it comes to power. I seriously doubt that Poseidon actually cares for Percy, not with the shit he said oh so long ago. Greedy bastard. . . All of them.

Percy snuggled closer.

Except for him.

I kissed him on the top of the head, he yawned and moved closer. I poked at the fire with a stick.

They did something to him.

I know it.

Apollo stepped out of his tent, he walked over and quitely said, "I was going to say that one of you could go to sleep. . . But looks like Percy beat you to it."

"I need to discuss something with you," I told him with a serious look.

Apollo frowned and sat down next to me and touched my arm. A bright light glowed around it, "Can this wait until morning?"

"We've got time," I stated.

"We've got Percy right there," he pointed out, "and judging by the look in your eyes you are not very happy."

I sighed and considered it, "It's not about that. If Percy hears. . . He hears. If he doesn't, great. But we can't keep everything from him, and it's not like I'm 100% on this. It's just an idea."

"Idea?" Apollo spoke slowly.

"Is there a possibility. . . That Poseidon did something to make Percy so tired?" I asked as I watched Percy's face.

Apollo stayed silent before quitely saying, "Maybe. I think I'll give the four of you a check up before we leave."

"Four?" I pondered, "but I thought. . ."

"All four of you were at camp," Apollo said, "I hate to admit this, but if the gods thought they could get away with it, they'd try."

I looked up at the stars as Apollo continued, "Think about it. Nico can summon armies of skeletons and shadow travel. The only one who could stop him from doing that would be either me or Will."

"Will's healing powers are matched to mine. I don't think he knows this, but he could bring that army of Nico's back to life with the snap of his fingers if he wanted to."

"And you," he added, "Suggestion and the ability to use time like a toy. You could take advantage of anyone."

I glanced at Percy, he still wasn't reacting.

"You could do a lot, Luke. You could overthrow the gods, but I know you wouldn't," he assured.

"Why do you think that?" I asked him, meeting his cobalt eyes.

"I don't think about it, Luke. I just look at the signs."

I didn't get as much sleep, I stayed on a double shift. Apollo took a while to make sure we were physically okay, so nothing was implanted inside of us. Of course, Apollo reminded us that the check up didn't cover magic.

But there it was.

Right on Percy's neck was a small trident that we hadn't seen before, just a tiny bit under the nape of his neck. Where he wouldn't of seen it and unless someone who knew what it was saw it, he wouldn't of found it.

"How?" Percy called out loud.

"Well, you were knocked out for 2 weeks straight," Apollo said, "Y'know, when you were captured?"

Percy looked down, I turned to will, "What was even in that seaweed?"

"It's not like I made it, we only agreed to help because it would of been easier," Will said, "seemed to think that we wouldn't of tried to get him back."

Apollo placed a hand on Percy's shoulder, "Do you know what that mark means?"

"No. . . I know it's my father's symbol. . . But. . ." He trailed off, "I hate not knowing anything."

"It's okay," I assured.

Nico began to speak, "What I don't understand is how come it's making him too sleepy to do anything."

I looked around, "Maybe we shouldn't talk about this here."

"Can you get rid of it?" Nico asked as he put the tent into the back of the chariot.

"Usually, yes. But with Percy, its way too close to his spine for me to remove it fully. It would hurt and could cause Percy to cripple for a few weeks if I can heal him afterwards," he explained.

"Why wouldn't I heal? What do you mean fully?" Percy asked.

"Well. . . The tattoo isn't just a tracking tattoo. . ." I trailed off. I threw the sleeping bag into the back.

"It grows in a way. . . You know how your father is, Percy. He's very protective of you. . ." Apollo reasoned as he helped Percy into the chariot.

I hoped in after Percy who whispered fearfully, "What's wrong with it?"

Apollo's eyes softened, "uh. . ."

He didn't have the heart to tell Percy, so I did, "When it grows, it grows. It could be wrapped around your spine, is what he's trying to tell you."

"What!" He yelled.

"Get out of the chariot!" A voice yelled.

We all turned around to see Hades with a dart gun pointed at Nico. We all froze in fear.

"Don't-"

"Shut it, Luke! Or I'll shoot your boyfriend," he threatened as he moved the dart gun to Percy.

Percy blushed, but slowly raised his hands in the air.

I slowly leaned infront of Percy, behind me I heard a yell, "Get away from him, we have no reason not to shoot you."

My head whipped around, My father.

"Slowly step away from him," Poseidon's voice called out.

I angerily raised my hands while looking away from my father, I took a small step away from him. Percy gave me a look of worry, I gave him a reassuring nod.

"What do you want!" Nico yelled.

"You know, Nico. I'm sorry, but it has to be done," Hades said sadly.

Will pulled Nico closer to him.

"Everyone, get away from eachother right now!" Poseidon yelled.

"Wh-"

My father pulled his trigger, a dart smacked Will in the neck. He squeaked and collapsed into Nico's arms.

"Will!" Apollo and Nico yelled out.

"Why would you do that!" I screamed at my father.

He sighed and pointed the dart gun at me, "I really don't want to shoot you, lukey."

"Don't call me that," I growled.

Percy quitely tried to grab Riptide. His father cut in, "Percy, I don't want to shoot you either, but I will if I have to."

He froze and looked down.

"You know that wouldn't work," Apollo growled.

"Maybe not, but remember who you're fighting," Poseidon chastised.
