Currently the two horses that (Y/N) and Akechi were betting on weren't close to each other at all. Tutti Fruitti Booty was falling a bit behind and Big Boobs was currently in first place. Akechi smiled to himself as (Y/N) watched in a very stoic expression.
Heh. You're secrets are mine!
Suddenly a burst of energy overcame (Y/N)'s horse and the other horses ahead of him were lagging behind. Now both him and Big Boobs were neck and neck. Tensions were high in both the track and the park. (Y/N) remained stoic as ever and watched very carefully at the horses. In the end it was a very close call and the had to look at the photo finish.
"Tutti Frutti Booty wins by half a muzzle! Following with Big Boobs and..." The announcer exclaimed.
(Y/N) smiled cheerily and patted Akechi's head.
"Never underestimate my calculations nor my chances." She got up from the bench and saw Aren.
"Ah, Aren-kun! When did you get here?" She asked with a smile.
As she began chatting with Kuboyasu she failed to notice the now broken Akechi.
N-no way! How could my calculations fail me?! Sure (Y/N)'s horse was compatible with victory, but mine had more of a chance than hers! What if she's psychic too- or perhaps Kusuo-
Akechi's thoughts were interrupted when (Y/N) placed a hand on his shoulders out of worry.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
Akechi was still processing.
"H-how did you win? I-I calculated the results and-" He was unable to continue, he was at a loss.
(Y/N) gave him a warm smile.
"No matter what you do there's no way to fully calculate chance, you can't calculate every lottle aspect of life itself. You just have to take the risks and hope for a favorable outcome. "
Kuboyasu was confused.
"What happened?"
(Y/N) explained to him about the bet they made, leaving out a few details.
"Eh, really? What secret do you even want to keep so badly?" Kuboyasu questioned.
"Ah, no it's not a big deal. I just really like making bets." (Y/N) lied.
"Then can you tell me the secret?" Aren asked.
"Haha, no. Not unless you're willing to make a bet with me as well." (Y/N) chuckled.
Akechi formed an idea.
"Alright, (Y/N) how about a double or nothing?"
(Y/N) turned her attention back to Akechi.
"Alright, but let's play a different game."
-
So (Y/N), Akechi, and Kuboyasu were at (Y/N)'s place playing poker. Ryuu agreed to be the card dealer. The terms were that the losers of the game had to do what the winner wanted. Aren of course was slightly confused, but decided to tag along nonetheless. He was actually pretty good at the game thanks to his father who taught him when he was 9 when they went to gamble at a casino. Akechi was the one who suggested the game and everyone else just agreed. (Y/N) offered to host the little game at her house and Ryuu offered to be the dealer...of cards no shady business here.
"Alright everybody knows how to play right?" Ryuu asked.
Akechi and Kuboyasu nodded. (Y/N) however did not and sat there in mild panic and confusion.
"Wait (Y/N) you've never played?!" Aren asked in shock.
(Y/N) simply shrugged and shook her head.
"No, not really."
Ryuu then began to explain the rules of poker and how to play within 5 minutes.
"Honestly why did you even accept this bet if you don't even know how to play..." Ryuu sighed.
"Well it's never too late to learn." The girl smiled.
Ryuu then began shuffling the cards like a total pro. Then he dealed them out. Poker chips were being used and (Y/N) just focused on her cards she really hasn't played before, but risk and chances were right up her alley.
Akechi's POV
(Y/N) had a look of distraught, meaning she really didn't know how to play.
"We can play a different game (L/n)." I offered.
(Y/N) looked up from her cards.
"No it's fine. I can always learn." She shrugged.
-
Kuboyasu: "I call 50."
Akechi: "I raise 20"
(Y/N) looked at the two with a blank expression, truly a master of poker faces.
(Y/N): "I raise your raise by 35."
We've been playing for two rounds now and (Y/N) has been getting bolder and bolder.
Perhaps she knows how to play now?
Kuboyasu: "Alright, I fold."
Kuboyasu had been bluffing this whole time, by my calculations he probably just had a pair. I could practically see the frustration in his eyes after getting his hand. I had a straight, but I had no idea about (Y/N). She had a faint smirk before it disappeared.
What if she has a royal flush? No, no one had a royal flush so she couldn't possibly know what it is. Unless she's been cheating.
I turned to the guy Ryuu. He was currently building a card house with UNO cards. It fell over after the 5th tier which resulted in him crying on the floor.
No, he couldn't possibly have helped her.
I watched (Y/N) very carefully.
Then it's a bluff right?
Akechi: "All in."
(Y/N) sweatdropped.
"Um...a-are you sure?"
She seemed nervous, meaning that everything has just been a bluff.
"Yes, now what's your next move?" I questioned.
(Y/N): "Alright, all in."
Ryuu got up from the floor and brushed himself off as if nothing happened.
"Okay players show your cards or whatever." Ryuu wandered off to the kitchen.
My calculations were correct and Kuboyasu did get a mere pair.
"Four of a Kind..." He muttered.
"Straight Flush!" I beamed as I showed off my cards full of aces.
We turned to (Y/N) who just sat there looking at her cards. A smile tugged upon her lips.
"Royal Flush." She grinned as she showed us her cards.
