"I have work tomorrow and if we are going to be gone for a week a need to give a few days notice. Not to mention packing and I would like to buy them a gift." I hadn't seen his parents in a while, it would be rude not to buy them a gift.
"You're a doctor, just walk in say"see ya!" and leave. Problem solved besides, you worked way to hard to get your position only to do a CNA's job."
"First off, I can't just walk in and say I'm going to be gone for a week. Second, I'm only twenty-six. Most doctors don't graduate until they are in their thirties. I worked so hard so I could still have a life after college."
I graduated a few months before I turned seventeen. After that, I went straight into college to get my degree. I always worked ahead and devoted nearly all of my time to school.
"You are more than qualified though. Come on, you clean bed pans. Once and a while you give out prescriptions when no one else is available. How is that fair?"
Cole never agreed with my position. To be honest though, he was right. I didn't work so hard only to get a CNA job. It really wasn't fair. I was still lucky to have my job though.
"I never said it was fair, but one day it will all be cleared up." I stepped closer, our noses inches apart. "Why don't we eat? I'm hungry and I bet you are too."
"Starving." It came out as a whisper. Next thing I knew his lips were on mine. My arms were around his neck and his around my waist, pulling me even closer until there was no space left in between us.
His lips traveled along my jaw line all the way to my ear. Once there, he bit the lobe of my ear then moved to my neck. Kissing all the way down to my collarbone.
"Cole..." I breathed. "Breakfast is gonna get cold." I was trying to regain control of my breathing.
"Mmmhh. You should've explained what you meant by breakfast." He chuckled. Just like that he stopped and sat at the table. I could feel the warmth rising up my cheeks.
Oh my god Cole! You can't do that and then just...LEAVE?
I knew at this point my face probably looked like a tomato.
"What's wrong baby? Out of breath?" His impish grin told me he was teasing me.
"Oh shut up would you! You big jerk." We both knew that I was pretending to be mad. It was quite funny actually. Still mean though. I grabbed the syrup and sat at the table with him.
"Okay, so if you can't get off of work in the next few days, how about Saturday?" He acted as if nothing happened. I could still feel the warmth on my cheeks.
"Hmm, that would work. That gives me the rest of the week to plan. It's Monday right?"
"Yep," he then proceeded to shove the entire pancake in his mouth. "Ou dibn't porget yor dayz dib ou?"
"Cole. Chew your food then speak. I have no idea what the heck you just said." I patted his cheek. "You look like a cute little piggy though."
He pouted at me, and his pancake proceeded to fall out of his mouth... onto the plate.
"COLE ANDRÉ RUSSO! What the hell babe?!" We were both laughing uncontrollably at this point. He was coughing pancake all over the place, making a total mess.
"STOOOPPP!! You're getting it everywhere!" My reaction only made him laugh harder, causing more pancake to go flying.
"Argggg! You're going to choke. Chill it!" He finally calmed down after a few more coughs. My precious clean floor... it looked like someone flung poop all over it.
Definitely not giving him chocolate chips next time. I snickered to myself.
"Sorry babe." He was trying so hard to contain his laughter with his dorkish grin.
I threw the paper towels at him.
"Just clean it up you piggy!" I couldn't help but giggle. I went to the kitchen to get a wet rag to help clean up the sticky parts.
"Hey babe do..." my voice trailed off when I looked at him. He had the paper towels and proceeded to smear the pancakes on the floor. He was just making it worse.
"OH MY GOD COLE! PINCH DONT SMEAR! You're just making it worse!"
"I AM PINCHING!" He proceeded to smear it even more. I looked at him in horror.
He looked up at me and started laughing all over again. It took us a good fifteen minutes before we stopped laughing and were able to clean it up. I ended up helping him before it got even worse. By the time we finished, the pancakes were all cold.
"You and your spit fest made my pancakes cold." I scowled at him with a grin on my face. How did I manage to end up with such a dweeb? A hot dweeb at that.
"I love you babe!" His impish grin returning.
"Love you too, dweeb." I turned my back to him and I soon felt his lips next to my ear.
"By the way, you taste much sweeter than syrup." I whipped my head around to see a giant grin on his face, I instantly turned red. He winked at me and left the room.
"COLE!!!"
