"Dr. Eyler, the glass shard is an eighth away from his axillary vain. He has several spots that will need stitching and his arm is broken." One of the doctors said. I nodded and headed to the operating room.

I took a deep breath before entering.

This surgery will be very similar to Coles. However, Aidens chances are higher.

I walked into the room and suited up. They already had Aiden under anesthesia and he was all set to go. I knew what needed to go first, the big glass shard. He had a few smaller ones, but those weren't as threatening.

The nurse handed me a pair of forceps. I exhaled and began to pull the shard out. This time, I was much more experienced. I pulled it out slowly, trying not to hit the vain. His heart rate began to increase as I pulled.

     Please don't.

The more I pulled, the faster his heart went. The shard was almost out, I knew I could make it. I pulled a little more and it was out. I put it in a metal tray. Aidens heart began to slow back down.

The nurses began clapping, even though there was much left to do. However, that was the hard part. The rest was basic procedure. I went for the other pieces of glass. They weren't nearly as big as the first. After removing the glass, I began suturing the gashes.

There were three bigger ones and a couple smaller ones that needed suturing. Unfortunately, I couldn't put his arm in a cast until most of the swelling had gone down. For the time being, I put a splint on him. This was to make sure his bones would keep from shifting.

After two hours, we were done. I prescribed him some anti-inflammatories and pain killers. He was going to be in quite a bit of pain. The hospital decided they would keep him over night and possibly longer if need be.

I didn't even realize it was nighttime by the time I finished. It started getting dark when the accident happened. I received word that the nanny did not make it through the surgery. It crushed my heart. She sacrificed her life to protect Aidens.

I decided to sit down on a near by bench until I could clear my head.

What a long day. I did it this time. I was able to save him. If only I could've... the tears rolled down my cheeks.

"What's wrong?" A husky voice whispered in my ear. I immediately sat up and threw a punch. The man caught my fist just in time before it hit his face.

"That wasn't very nice." It was Aidens father. He gave me a little pout.

"I-I'm sorry. You startled me." I tried to pull my hand away, but he gripped it tighter.

"I asked you a question dear?" Get away from him. I thought.

"Nothing. I was just thinking. If you would be ever so kind as to let my hand go, I would appreciate it very much. You're hurting me. Please." He instantly let my hand go and gave me a warm smile.

     Multiple personality disorder maybe?

"I apologize for being rude earlier. I know it came out rude however, I was just so concerned about my boy. I wasn't thinking of anything else. I'm sorry for what I said."

     "You didn't lie though."

     "Pardon?"

"You meant most of what you said. For instance, what if I wasn't able to save Aiden? Would you really be okay with it? Or would your, or else, happen to me? Sir with-
