James' POV
I rushed home, my cheek was burning with pain. I went to the bathroom to remove the piece of glass and to stitch my cheek. I would have to do the outside and the inside of my cheek. I was able to get ahold of some lidocaine a while back, I injected some into my cheek.
I waited a few minutes before I began to clean and suture the wound. If I went to the hospital, the police would be all over me.
DAMMIT! I'm usually good at keeping my temper under control, what happened. I just got so ANGRY! Who is she to talk to me like that, demanding I leave. Serves her right, she is mine and I need to know where she is at all times. I tried being nice but no, she was still mad. She needed to be taught a lesson. So many years of pent up anger, finally released.
They won't be able to catch me, even if I did leave fingerprints and blood. That's why I changed my name shortly after becoming a doctor. Lily and Cole both knew I changed my name, but Cole is dead and I doubt Lily would remember my old horrid name. Lily won't remember anything that happened with her head injury, things can go back to normal.
I waited until the morning to go visit Lily. I needed the lidocaine to wear off first. Not to mention, I'm her best friend, it would be suspicious if I didn't visit. They had taken her to the hospital we worked at.
How did the ambulance get to her so soon? She wouldn't have been able to call, someone must've called her.
"Dr. Warren! What happened to your cheek my man?" Ugh, Go away Matt. I'm trying to think.
"Ah, I was frying some chicken the other day and some of the oil splashed up onto my cheek." I had gotten so good at lying to people.
"Oof! Is it alright? Do you need someone to look at it for you?" So annoying.
"Oh its alright. I already took care of it. Hey do you know which room Lilliana is in?"
"Yeah, she's in ICU end of the hall, door on the right. She's in rough shape, so be warned."
Yep, I know.
I made my way to ICU and to Lilliana's room. So many people asked what I'd done to my cheek, they all got the fried chicken story. If I told different stories, it would be obvious I was lying.
I walked into her room and sat in the chair next to her. I knew people in comas could hear and I assumed she wouldn't remember any of the incident due to the severity of her injuries.
It's also traumatic enough that her brain will seal those memories away.
If you would've just listened, you wouldn't be here right now. You can only blame yourself.
I held her hand.
"I love you Lilliana, I always will. Please be okay." More like please don't remember. If you remember, I will have to kill you.
Lances' POV (Three weeks after the attack)
It had been three weeks since the attack and Lilliana was still in a coma. The police were able to match the blood to a man named Sebastian Carter. The only problem, no one knows a Sebastian Carter. So, they were still looking into it.
I hadn't told Aiden the details of what happened to Lana, just that she was hurt and was recovering. He wasn't happy when I told him another doctor would be doing the surgery on his arm. I finally got him to calm down when said that Lily would recover faster and we would be able to see her if he let the doctor help.
