"So you know Lance MORETTI? Oh and his son? Why didn't you tell me?"
"His son is the boy I saved. The one I told you about and I-
"Wait, you remember?" He stepped closer.
I let it slip. Shit.
"Not much. Bits and pieces."
"Did you see who did it?" His hands moved to behind his back.
"No. Just a bit of an argument between us but I think it was over the phone."
"Oh yeah. That was over the phone." His folded his hands in front of him. "Well I just wanted to stop by and make sure you were okay." He left.
Why did he leave so soon? And why was he lying? I knew it wasn't over the phone, so why did he agree with my lie? I know I didn't mention it over the phone.
I decided to get some rest like the doctor said.

Lances' POV (Three days later)
"Daddy, when will she wake up?"
"Shhh. She needs to rest, doctors orders." I had decided to bring Aiden to visit Lilliana. He was so excited when I told him she was awake that he became antsy for her to wake up.
"She's awake daddy! Lily? I missed you!" She's only awake because you didn't keep your loud mouth shut! I rolled my eyes at the thought.
"Hey buddy," she rubbed her eyes as she sat up. "I missed you too."
Before I could stop him, Aiden was already crawling into her lap and crushing her in a hug.
"Aiden, be careful. She still needs to take it easy."
"Dad, shhhh. I'm enjoying this moment you you are totally ruining it with that mood of yours." I looked at him in shock. Lana Just laughed.
"You sure have some sass kid." She said as she hugged him back.
"Well you and him have the same amount so it's no wonder he loves you." We both laughed.
What will happen when she is discharged? Will she go back to her place? Dr. Tockley entered the room cheerfully.
"I've got good news miss! You are all clear to leave the hospital, with one condition. You need to have someone with you at all times for a little while. We still aren't sure if your memories of the incident will come back but if they do, it will be very traumatic for you."
"She can stay with us. It won't be a big deal."
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" She protested.
"I'll um... leave you guys to discuss the matter."
"I'm sorry Lance, but I can't stay with you. You've already been too kind and I wouldn't want to impose."
"My kindness is mine to give, and I choose to give it to you. You wouldn't be imposing besides, you can't stay here forever." Like hell I'm letting you stay here. The only reason you've been here this whole time is because they insisted you stayed here. I promised to protect you, and I plan on keeping that promise.
"I can just stay at a friends house. It's not a big deal."
"I am a friend and-
"I am too! I'm a friend and I really want you to stay. Please!" Aiden was a good protestor. He hugged her tighter.
"How long would I be staying? That is, if I say yes."
"A week maybe? Whatever the doctors recommend." She looked deep in thought.
I know she said she had other friends, but if she means that James dude, I won't have it. I don't know why, but I do not trust him. This is not the 'A friend of yours is a friend of mine'. No.
"Fine I'll stay, but I mean it Lance, control yourself." She pointed her finger at me.
"What does she mean 'control yourself' daddy?" Aiden had this devilish smirk on his face. I had completely forgotten he was even in here.
"Nothing bud. And Lana, I promise there will not be an incident like last time..."
"Good. So then-
"THAT MEANS YOU CAN BE MY NANNY!" Aidens high pitched scream was deafening.
"No, it's the other way around. We are her babysitter for now." I looked at Lana to see her glaring at me.
"No. Don't even put it like that," she looked at Aiden. "Think of it like a sleepover." No. It's definitely us babysitting you.
"What about when we are done babysitting you. Then can you be my nanny? Please? I promise I'll be good!" Don't make promises you can't keep kid. You are a nightmare.
"Aiden, let her rest."
"No!" He got on his knees and proceeded to beg.
"Okay okay! When I'm all better I will consider it. We can use our little sleepover as a test, to see if you really will be good. Okay?" She knew how to play.
"Yay!" He was beaming with enthusiasm.
"Wonderful. I'll go call the maids to get your room ready. Since you need someone near you, but you won't let me stay right beside you, you'll be in the room next to mine." Like I wasn't planning on it.
The color drained from her face.
"W-wait. As in NEXT to your room?!" She stuttered.
"Yep. The room right next to mine. Don't worry, they are big rooms." I gave her a big smile and walked out of the room.
This was going to be one hell of a ride.
