Y/n quickly punched the distracted boy in the face. As he held his burning nose, they sprinted to the reptilian kid holding Shirohato. "I already told you guys to let him go!"
The reptile kid threw him to the floor again, "What do you think you can do, Quirkless freak?!"
He punched Y/n in the stomach. They barely bent over, but let the energy pool in her arms. Forcing the energy to their legs, they spun around, extending their leg, and kicked him in his shoulder. He fell to the ground by Shirohato, the surprising strength overwhelming him.
Y/n turned to the other boy. "You next?"
The last boy nervously glanced between his reptile friend on the ground, and the plain boy clutching his nose and glaring at them. Noticing his cowardly attitude, Y/n scoffed, "Just scram."
Nodding, he ran down the hall, abandoning whom Y/n had assumed where his friends. After this, they probably weren't.
"What the hell?!" the reptile boy growled, standing up and gripping his shoulder.
"Go after him," they commanded, glaring at the boy.
He held their glare and let out a slow breath. "Whatever," he muttered walking away. Dragging the other boy along with him, they followed after their friend.
Y/n looked down at Shirohato. He was staring at her with wide eyes, his arua almost sparkling. Immediately turning away from him, Y/n walked to their bag.
"Ah! Wait for me!" he exclaimed, picking up his stuff that had been scattered a little ways away from him. Ignoring him, Y/n slung their bag over their shoulder, prepared to walk away without him.
"Thanks so much, N/n!" he said from right next to them.
"It's whatever, Kid. Now get back to class or something."
"It's lunchtime."
"Then go eat lunch."
"Actually, can we eat lunch together? It's been a while since we've hung out," he said, his grip on his bag tightening.
"What about your sister?" Y/n asked, readjusting their blazer and tie.
"You know how she gets," he muttered, looking away.
Y/n observed him for a moment. They stared at his messy hair and disgruntled uniform. "Go to the nurse," they stated.
Shirohato turned back to them, apparently surprised by the suggestion. "Why?"
"What do you mean 'why'?! You just got beat up!" they exclaimed, annoyed by his oblivious behavior.
"Ah, but you helped me," he declared, smiling at them.
"I've told you before. I don't 'help' people..."
"But you saved me, N/n! You always help me!" he continued, only making them even more flustered.
"I didn't do anything, Amaterasu," they mumbled.
"It's Shirohato."
"Kid. I didn't help you. I was just itching for a fight. I'm a violent, Quirkless nutjob, remember?"
"I know you, N/n. You're not violent, and you're not crazy. You're not even Quirkless!"
Y/n turned away, their mind becoming fuzzy. "Just go eat your lunch. And stay out of trouble. I'm walking you home, not dragging along some half-conscious kid."
Shirohato's face glowed. He practically squealed with excitement as he nodded to Y/n, "Yes, I promise I'll stay out of trouble!" He dashed off to go eat lunch, thrilled with the idea of Y/n walking him home.
Y/n stared at him as he ran away, his ponytail swinging along. They sighed.
"I talk to those two too much."

---15:00, Nabu Middle School---
Hitomi wasn't in any more of Her classes. It wasn't unusual for Her to skip school, but today, it felt weird to Y/n. Although, they were glad She wasn't there to bother them for the rest of the day.All that was left was Shirohato.
He had walked to Y/n's class as soon as school was over. As promised, Y/n walked with him out of the school. His happiness showed in his flushed face and huge grin. He was talkative and touchy. Not unusual for him. Y/n anxiously held up conversation, although they let Shirohato do most of the talking. They never got used to his personality, and being alone for a couple of years didn't help.
The students who knew of Y/n's reputation gawked at the sight. A second year hanging around the aggressive third year.
Weird.

---15:26, Ressha Station---
Shirohato wanted to take a little detour before he went home. He didn't tell Y/n where they were going, and they didn't want to pry. Although he wouldn't admit it, he just wanted to spend more time with them because he wasn't sure of the next time they could be together. The two sat on the train, waiting for it to leave the station. Shirohato occasionally glanced at Y/n as they stared at their phone."N/n..." he muttered, surprising Y/n and himself.
"Hmm?"
"Why don't you come by anymore?"
Y/n slowly lowered their phone, resting it on their lap and fiddling with it. "You know Hitomi doesn't like me..."
"But I still like you!" he blurted out. "Ah. A-And our parents too!" he quickly added, slightly blushing.
"That doesn't change the fact that we're not friends."
"But you still want to be friends."
"That's not..."
"I can tell by the way you seem so down when talking about her," he insisted, seriously staring at Y/n. They bit their lip, wanting to deny his statements but feeling stopped by some underlying feeling that he was right.
"I don't think Hitomi actually hates you."
Y/n's eyes widened. They turned to Shirohato who now looked at them with a soft smile.
"I think she just misses you."
