A/n: Hi guys ,so here's the first chapter. Thank you for giving my book a chance. Please vote , comment and share
" Aadya! , Aadya!"
"Ugh, Mom's calling me. It's 8 AM already?
Typical. I guess I'm just not cut out for waking up on my own. She's always worried about me being late, so she makes sure to wake me up early every morning.
I appreciate her concern, but sometimes I wish I could just sleep in. I'm not sure why I have such a hard time waking up, but it's definitely something I need to work on."
"First thing's first: chai! It's my morning elixir, the fuel that kickstarts my day. I can't imagine starting my day without that warm, comforting cup. While I'm perfectly capable of brewing a pot myself, there's something undeniably special about my mom's chai. It's more than just a beverage; it's a comforting ritual, a taste of home. I guess it's the love and care she infuses into every cup, a secret ingredient that elevates it to a whole new level."
"Dad's at it again, giving me the usual morning lecture. 'Aadya, you need to start waking up early. Why do you always need to be woken up? You need to establish a morning routine and help out around the house.'
I know he's just trying to help, but sometimes it feels like he doesn't understand. It's not that I don't want to wake up early; it's just that my body seems to have a mind of its own. I've tried setting alarms, but they never seem to work. I guess I'll just have to keep trying and hope that one day, I'll be able to wake up on my own."
"It's the same old routine, isn't it? 'Wake up early, Aadya! Why do you always need to be woken up?' It's like a broken record, playing on loop every morning. I know they mean well, but it can be a bit much sometimes. I try my best to be a good daughter, to help out around the house, and to do well in school. But it seems like there's always more that I could be doing, more that I should be doing.
I used to feel good about myself when I was helping out, but now I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. It's like there's an endless list of expectations, and no matter how hard I try, I can never quite measure up. Maybe it's time to have a heart-to-heart with them and explain how I'm feeling. But for now, let's just focus on something else."
My day commences with a sacred ritual, my morning puja. It's a serene moment of reflection and gratitude, setting the stage for the rest of the day.
Following this, I either opt for a quick breakfast or a leisurely brunch, depending on my mood. I've been fortunate enough to learn the art of cooking from my incredibly talented mother. Her culinary skills are unparalleled, and her dishes are simply divine.
I doubt anyone could replicate the flavors and finesse she brings to every meal. Her influence has not only shaped my palate but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the culinary arts.
"Mom asked, 'Hey Aadya, what do you think about dal and cauliflower for lunch?' I replied, 'Yeah, that sounds good, Ma. Maybe ask bro what he wants. You know how picky he can be about food!"
He's always throwing a tantrum over one thing or another, especially when it comes to food. I'm surprised he hasn't complained about the dal and cauliflower yet. But knowing him, he'll probably find something to complain about.
"While I can be particular about my food, I'm generally adaptable and can usually find something to eat, no matter what's on the table. Unless, of course, hunger takes over and my patience dwindles. My brother, however, is a different story. He's always craving something new and exciting, and he quickly tires of eating the same thing repeatedly. It's like his taste buds are always searching for the next culinary adventure. I guess some people are just wired to be more adventurous eaters than others."
"Gauri" papa calls
"Yes , give me a minute" mom answers and goes.
Until she arrives I start helping with lunch as it might get late for lunch as it has to be taken to our shop for papa and Bhai ( brother).
We Mishra's have a long history in the electronics business. Starting with radios, we've expanded to include a wide range of products, including modern LED TVs. Before even maa used to handle along with papa but now that Bhai handles things she goes occasionally.
As an MBA graduate, I contribute when needed. My father, while not encouraging a traditional job, is supportive of my professional pursuits.
Between Gauri and Abhimanyu
G- "Yes , why did you call for me"
A-"You know the Singh's?"
G- " yes! They are well known family, why do you ask?"
A- "They have asked for Aadya's Kundli for their son Reyansh" ( kundli -marriage related card that determines wedding between two individuals in Hindus )
G- " Oh that's great! , we should definitely give them. If they both are a match then it would be amazing. And who doesn't know Reyansh beta, he is such a wonderful guy and everyone in the city respects him and Singh's ".
A- " Yeah I'll send them her Kundli tomorrow. And let's not get ahead of ourselves and get excited. And don't mention any of this to Aadya too because we don't know if it's a match yet so let's not trouble her"
G-" Yeah sure, let's wait until we receive an answer from them and then go forward with other details "
Gauri comes back to the kitchen.
" Maa , what was papa saying? You were gone for a long time " aadya asked her
"Nothing beta, he was talking about some work related stuff which I used to look after earlier and he needed some help regarding it"
"Oh okay then, I have almost finished with preparing lunch, only sabzi (vegetable) is to be made"
" Okay , you go now I will finish up things here and tell you if something is needed "
Aadya in her Room
I'm excited to dive into a K-drama now that I have some free time. While I wasn't initially drawn to them, I've recently become captivated by their unique charm. The intricate storylines, coupled with the perfect balance of heartwarming romance and dramatic tension, have me hooked. It's as if I'm transported to another world, where love stories unfold against stunning backdrops and characters I can't help but root for.
As I prepared to immerse myself in a captivating K-drama, my phone chimed, signaling an incoming call. It was Ruhanika, or Rooh, as I fondly refer to her. We've been inseparable since our childhood days, sharing countless secrets, dreams, and laughter. Despite our busy lives and diverging paths, we make a conscious effort to stay connected through regular phone calls and in-person meet-ups whenever our schedules permit.
Phone Call
R-"Hey Aadu , what's up? It's been forever since we spoke or even met"
A-" Nothing much Rooh , the same old routine around home doing stuff. You tell me what you have been upto"
R- " Just got done with my internship work and iam so ready to chill and have some much needed fun"
A- "That's great! , iam glad that youre getting a much needed break. You have worked day and night for it".
R- "yes! So when are we meeting because I can't wait for us to hangout, it's been forever and I have so much stuff to share".
A-" yeah , let's make some plans soon just let me know where and when and I'll come."
R- " you know all the latest hangouts so you decide and I'll be there"
A- "Haan(okay) I will decide then, and I'll let you know "
R- " okay then bye, see you soon"
A- "see you soon"
I'm thrilled to be free from the monotony of my daily routine! It's been driving me crazy, so I'm ready to break free and explore. I'll dive into Instagram to discover some new and exciting places to visit. Once I've found the perfect spot, I'll let her know. After all, good food and good company are always a winning combination.
Unaware that life is about to change for Aadya very soon.
A/n : Okay here's the first chapter. Iam pretty nervous about this tbh. Let me know if I need some corrections and please support my book. Also the next chapter will be about Reyansh and his pov.
