Chapter 2

"Already did, Miss."

"Great! Thanks! Looks like we're heading to New York! I know you're already kind of there, but you get what I mean."

"Yes." 

"Alright, let's kick it into full throttle! New York, here I come, baby!" I blasted off, heading to the big city where Pepper and Tony were waiting. I enjoyed the sights from up above as I flew all the way to the Big Apple itself. I couldn't wait to start celebrating with Tony and Pepper. Stark Tower was going to be one of the biggest things yet! This is gonna be great!

I listened to music the entire way there, having a great time singing and jamming out in the air. After about three songs, I arrived. I slowed down as I flew over New York. I heard some cheers from down below. I smiled, happy that people recognized and liked me. I waved to a few of them before hurrying off to Stark Tower.

I landed on the walkway and changed back into my human form. The machines took off my suit for me as I headed inside. I saw Tony and Pepper waiting for me. Pepper smiled as I hurried down the stairs and ran up to her. I latched onto her in a hug and she laughed a little.

"It's good to see you too, Izzy!"

"I haven't been to New York a lot! This is so exciting!"

"Well, better get used to traveling, kiddo," Tony said, currently working on something. He was almost always working on something, but I was used to it.

"I know. It's no big deal! Besides! Seeing new places is so much fun!" I headed over. "So what do you need my help with?"

"Well, for starters, installation of all of the rest of the arc reactor. I need you to help with some of the heavy lifting. An extra set of hands in the field is going to be useful." He turned to me. "Come on, let's get to work." I smiled, happy to help and ready to get to work.

"Ready when you are, Tony!"

"Sir, are you sure we should ask her to come in as well?"

"Yes. We need all the help we can get. Of course, her participation is mostly going to be left up to Stark. However, I have faith that she'll come through when it counts."

"And we're certain she's stable?"

"She'll have to be. I'm betting a lot on it. I'm sending you to retrieve both of them. Get there and get back as soon as you can."

"Yes, Sir."

I sent him out and I began to get ready to go retrieve the man I needed. I hoped that I was right with the girl. I needed her to be with us on this. She was the second most powerful recruit I was hiring when it came to just raw power. If she wasn't with us, I would have to hope that those who were would be enough. I needed to make sure she was kept under a strict watch. If not, she could be in grave danger and that would put everyone else at risk too. I had a lot riding on a teenager, and I didn't particularly like that fact, but I had to live with it, one way or another.

Izetta's POV

"All set on your end, Izz?"

"Ready to go! We're all good here!"

"Alright, then let's get out of the water and head back. Ready to see this thing light up?"

"Hell yeah! Let's do it!" I regrouped with Tony, following him back to the tower as he contacted Pepper.

"Good to go on this end. The rest is up to you."

"You disconnected the transmission lines? Are we off the grid?"
