Twisted in Ties (Loki x OC)

Loki's POV

"Dad! Come on! I'm twenty, not twelve! We'll be just fine on our own! We're just driving to the city!"

"Come and visit, okay?"

"Tony, take it easy on her."

"You'll come home for Christmas, right, sis? And my birthday? And Easter? Oh, and Halloween too! You promised you'd help me dress up to be just like you!"

I sighed with a smile as Izetta was saying goodbye to her family. Izetta had promised me that there was a place waiting for us. We could be alone with each other and start to have a life to ourselves. At least, that's how she put it. I think she was just excited to feel like she was going to start a new life for herself. I felt a little overwhelmed thinking of how that idea hinged so heavily on being with me.

"Morgan, I promise we'll come for the big holidays. I'll come for Halloween sometimes, but I want to see what that big bright head of yours can do all on its own too, okay? Mom's gotta remember to send me pictures."

"Oh, I will, Izzy." Pepper kissed her elder daughter's forehead. "Have a safe trip, okay, baby?"

"We will, Mom." They all shared one last hug, but I was surprised when Pepper came over to me.

"Goodluck to both of you, okay?" She offered me a hug, but I wasn't sure. I saw Izetta's gaze and, not wanting to disappoint her, I gave in. To be honest, the hug was rather nice. I felt the lingering memory of my own mother. Sometimes, Pepper did remind me of her. I had a feeling it was because the two women both handled their husbands somewhat similarly. Morgan rushed over.

"You gotta keep Izzy safe!" She demanded. "Whenever you guys go on adventures! I always protect Sis from other big mean dragons and scary robots! You gotta promise! You promise?" It was then I realized she wasn't talking about real scenarios. I smiled at the girl.

"I promise." She reached her arms out, grabbing at the air and signaling that she wanted a hug too. I picked her up and she giggled happily as she squeezed her arms around me. I chuckled and hugged her back before setting her down.

"Alright, now we better go before we're late for the time we wanted to get there," Izetta stated, taking my hand.

"We'll see you again soon, Izz!" Pepper called.

"Remember to install that security device I made for you once you get to the apartment!"

"I will, Tony!" Izetta laughed slightly.

"Have fun!!" Morgan called.

"You know it, mini-me!" We both got into her car and she left out a heavy breath with a smile.

"Could they make it any more clear that they want you to stay?" I asked. She rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, well, I love my family, but let's just say the cabin doesn't exactly have the amount of privacy I prefer."

"Who said you're going to be getting any of that, Darling~?" She gave me a playful glare as the car started up and she took off. I was a little startled once again by her driving. It was clear she'd picked up this from her father as well. However, she was clearly more controlled.

"So, we got everything that needs to be transported already on its way. All the other stuff we need is bought and being set up at our place as we speak. I have everything I need in my personal bag. We went over the things you wanted and like. Plus, we're gonna go out shopping tomorrow to make sure we have everything we need and to get some other stuff that we like."

"Yes, you've gone over all this with me already, Izetta."

"I'm more-so going over it again for myself. I don't wanna miss anything!"
