"Yes." Jane turned to me and Thor.

"Quantum field generator," She repeated. I chuckled and Thor smiled. Then...Odin arrived.

"My words are mere noises to you that you ignore them completely?" He asked Thor.

"She is ill," Thor insisted.

"She is mortal," Odin argued. "Illness is their defining trait."

"I brought her here because we can help her."

"She does not belong here in Asgard any more than a goat belongs at a banquet table." I felt a little hurt by that.

"But I was accepted here," I countered.

"You are not mortal, therefore you should not have been in Midgard in the first place, making however you ended up there my responsibility. I have told you this before." I frowned, but Jane spoke up before I could.

"Did he just-? Who do you think you are?" Jane asked.

"I am Odin, King of Asgard. Protector of the Nine Realms." She paused.

"Oh...well, I'm-"

"I know very well who you are, Jane Foster." She turned to Thor.

"You told your dad about me?" He brushed it off for the time being.

"Something is within her, Father. Something I have not seen before."

"Her world has its healers. They are called doctors. Let them deal with it."

"Odin, Sir, our doctors wouldn't even have the ability to find out what this is," I argued, but he didn't listen to me.

"Guards, take her back to Midgard." Thor quickly tried to stop them.

"No, I would not-!" A blast of energy happened and I felt a powerful shock go through my entire body. I shrieked, but my cry went unnoticed at first. I looked down at my hands, seeing a black and red power starting to swirl around them. I was confused, but this power...it felt different. I felt...much stronger. Thor rushed over to Jane. "...touch her. Jane, are you alright?" She looked weakened by the blast.

"Yeah..." It barely came out as a whisper. Odin went to check her, but I spoke up.

"Thor..." They looked up and they saw the power swirling in my hands. I looked up at them. "...what is this? Why...why can I control it?"

"Izetta..." Thor sounded worried.

"Why does it feel..." I trailed off, enjoying the feeling of playing with it in my hands. I smiled a little. "...good?"

"Izetta, disband it at once!" Odin demanded. Startled and brought out of my trance, the power went away on its own. I took in a breath.

"I...I'm sorry, I...I don't know what...that was." Odin looked over Jane again.

"...Impossible."

"The infection...it's defending her," Her healer said.

"No...it's defending itself. And whatever it is," Thor turned to me. "it is also connected to Izetta, which means we can not ignore this, Father." Odin nodded and looked at Jane and I.

"Come with me."

We followed him as he took us to the library and pulled out a book, explaining along the way. "There are relics that pre-date the universe itself. What lies within her appears to be one of them. The Nine Realms are not eternal. They had a dawn as they will have a dusk." He flipped through the book as we gathered around. "But before that dawn, the dark forces, the Dark Elves, reigned absolute and unchallenged," Odin explained. Thor looked over the book, reading from it.

"Born of eternal night the Dark Elves come to steal away the light." I frowned.

"Sounds comforting," I muttered.

"I know these stories. Mother told them to us as children."

"Their leader, Malekith, made a weapon out of that darkness and it was called the Aether. While the other relics often appear as stone, the Aether is fluid and everchanging. It changes matter into dark matter. It seeks out host bodies, drawing strength from their life force. Malekith sought to use the Aether's power to return the universe to one of darkness. But, after eternities of bloodshed my father, Bor, finally triumphed, ushering in a peace that lasted thousands of years."

"What happened?" Jane asked. Meanwhile, I was stuck, caught up on that name. That name sent chills down my spine. I knew something was severely wrong now.

"He killed them all," Odin answered. I looked up, not sure if that was true.

"Are you certain? The Aether was said to have been destroyed with them and yet here it is."

"The Dark Elves are dead," Odin insisted. I stepped up.

"I had a vision!" They turned to me. "During the battle at Vanaheim, I saw one of our enemies wearing a mask that made me see a world of ruin. There was screaming, but I couldn't see anyone around me. Everything was a blur. But...last night a had a dream. I saw two strange-looking men fighting as others fought around them. The others were silent this time and they were blurry too, but I know what I heard. The good one, the one that was fighting with a power I could feel was pure...he died by the blade of Malekith. I heard him say that name as they fought. This battle was after your father, Odin, I'm sure of it." His expression changed. "I...I remember it. I was there."

"That is impossible!" He insisted. "Our healers determined your age, you are no more than a thousand years old!" Jane looked shocked.

"I'm sorry, one thousand years old and what and she still looks that good?" I chuckled.

"Yeah, that one was a shock to me too," I admitted.

"I do not know how you are connected to the Aether's power, but it cannot be through the Dark Elves," Odin insisted again.

"Does your book happen to mention how to get it out of me?" Jane asked.

"No. It does not."

Odin left and the three of us were at a loss for what to do. For the time being, we decided to stay together so that way we could keep an eye on Jane should she have another surge. Thor also wanted to keep an eye on me should I have another weird power trip as well.

As he explained to her how everything worked when the worlds align, I decided to think. I needed to know why I knew Malekith. I needed to know who was there. I needed to understand, but I couldn't. Even after everything I've learned...I still don't know who I am.

Frigga came soon enough. I was delighted to see her. I happily went up to her and she was pleased to give me a hug as I greeted her with one of my own. Thor was quick to introduce her to Jane.

"Jane Foster, please meet Frigga, Queen of Asgard, and my mother." Jane smiled somewhat nervously, but clearly still interested in meeting her.

"Hi." I chuckled at her quick response.

"Don't worry. Frigga doesn't have the same swift bite as Odin. You're fine," I told her. As we were talking, we suddenly heard an alarm.

"The prisons," Frigga confirmed my fears.

"Loki..." Thor suspected.

"I thought there was no way for him to get out?" I asked.

"There shouldn't be," Thor replied, turning back to Frigga.

"Go, I will look after her," Frigga instructed us. I smiled.

"Back at it again, Thor! Looks like the future king and his newest warrior can't catch a break!" I chuckled.

"Don't get cocky, Izetta. We must put an end to this straight away. Come!" He said, taking off as I pressed a button on my bracelet to call my gear to me. Odin had made sure that my suit had been reconstructed perfectly and now it was also embedded with Asgardian power, making the metal even more protective than before.

"Stay safe, your majesty! You too, Jane!" I called and hurried off as my rockets powered on and I shot into the air after Thor. Let's do this!
