"Hyuck let's go, the bell already rang," Renjun told the tanned male who was waiting by his locker for his crush to come out of his classroom, which was fortunately right next to theirs.

"I will! I will! Just a couple more minutes, he'll be out soon!" Donghyuck responded, his best friend rolling his eyes while crossing his arms and leaning against the tanned male's locker.

And as if on cue, the said older that was being spoken about had just left his classroom, eyes staring down at the ground. Donghyuck shoved Renjun off his locker, the older stumbling back from being off balance, to the side and opened his locker to hide his face. As soon as Mark had passed, Renjun took a tuff of Donghyuck's hair and pulled him back, slamming the locker shut with his free hand and dragging the younger to the buses while the tanned male winced in pain.

"Ow, ow, ow! Sorry, I'm sorry. Please, I'm sorry," Donghyuck gave a number of dramatic apologies to the older who finally released him, letting the younger rub the back of his head.

The younger's best friend stepped onto the bus with Donghyuck following, the two taking a seat with each other. As the bus drove, Renjun hadn't spoken a word to Donghyuck yet.

"Junnie~ I'm sorry," Donghyuck said with a small pout while Renjun had his arms crossed, looking out the window.

"Forgive me, Injunnie. Please~" Donghyuck spoke cutely, batting his eyelashes at the older which made Renjun click his tongue in annoyance.

Donghyuck grabbed a hold of Renjun's arm and placed his head on the older's shoulder, repeating more apologies until the blonde haired had enough.

"Alright, just shut up will you?!" Renjun said and Donghyuck's lips curved into a wide smile, hugging the older's arm tighter.

The bus made a halt at Renjun and Donghyuck's bus stop and the two got off, Mark leaving before them. The younger was held back by Renjun to keep his distance with Mark. Donghyuck skipped as Renjun's hand was secured tightly on the younger's strap of his bag, making sure he wouldn't go far.

"I swear I should be paid for the shit I deal with," Renjun cursed underneath his breath.

Their other friends rode a different bus as the two of them live right next door to each other. The two grew up together ever since they were toddlers. At first, they didn't want to be near each other as they'd be too nervous and uncomfortable. But when Renjun's parents invited Donghyuck's parents to come over, the two got along quickly. Even though Donghyuck may be a pain, Renjun loves him as well as Donghyuck loves the older.

They did everything together. Renjun was the first one Donghyuck told what his sexuality was in Jr. High School because he cares about his best friend's opinion and he was afraid that he'll treat him differently. But in the end it turned out okay because Renjun himself came out to Donghyuck, both of them coming out as gay.

That surely was a lift of weight being withdrawn from their chests, knowing that they can share anything with each other. Renjun was there for Donghyuck when he had gotten his first heartbreak in seventh grade, which was also how the younger figured out his sexual orientation.

It hurt to see Donghyuck cry and be so broken and it made Renjun want to hurt the person who made his best friend like this. Someone who was always so happy and smiley became gloomy and it hurt Renjun to see his best friend who is normally such a bright, cheerful person this way.

The night Donghyuck had gotten his heart broken, he went straight to Renjun's house instead of his own. Sure it was a middle school relationship, but it still hurt the younger as he had never experienced anything like it before. Renjun had cradled the younger in his arms as he cried all night, the older rubbing his back and comforting him as much as he possibly can.

Renjun had never been in a relationship before. The younger had always tried asking if he wanted him to set someone up with him, but the older always declined. It made the younger wonder why Renjun has never had any relationship. Sure he could be quite scary, but Renjun really is lovable and cute. And it's not like the older was having one behind his back because the two know everything about each other.

That's why Renjun doesn't really like the idea of Donghyuck crushing on this Mark guy. Because he's seen how upset and broken Donghyuck could get and he doesn't want him to to down that path again, especially since Mark isn't worth it. The older has tried so many times to open Donghyuck's eyes to see how Mark is treating him, but it hasn't been working.

All he does know is that if Mark ever tries something or hurts his best friend, Renjun will make sure he will most definitely regret it.

The younger's eyes followed the older as Mark walked into his home. They continued their walk until they finally reached their own, standing in front of their two family house duplex.

"I should buy him another pack of pocky sticks," Donghyuck nodded his head as he spoke out loud.

"Haechan, are you sure you want to keep buying him things? It doesn't look like he really... appreciates it?" Renjun questioned while scratching the side of his head.

"He likes me. If he didn't, he would've thrown the snack out as soon as I gave it to him but he didn't," Donghyuck spoke in a matter of fact as his eyes lit up. "Junnie, I'm making progress. He's starting to like me back!"

A quality that Renjun wishes Donghyuck never had was being so dense. The younger just doesn't see that Mark wants nothing to do with him, but he keeps provoking him. It's like trying to light the candle that's already been worn out and got wet.

But that's what he's here for. He's here to protect Donghyuck as best as he could and be there for him at all times.

"Hyuck, he still threw it out. I don't think that means he likes you back," Renjun stated, trying to sound as nice as he can without losing his patience.

"Silly, Renjun! You don't see what I see," Donghyuck said as he stared into space with a bashful smile and Renjun only sighed, shaking his head.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow morning. Don't wake up late again because I won't wake your ass up this time," Renjun told him and Donghyuck puffed his cheeks.

"You wouldn't do that. You'd still wake me up because you love me~" The younger sang and Renjun rolled his eyes playfully.

"Whatever. I'll see you later, Winnie the Pooh," Renjun ruffled the younger's hair who smiled brightly.

The two stole nicknames from their favorite Disney movie they watched together when they were younger. It's something that only them know about, which makes it special, mainly to Renjun. Donghyuck was Winnie the Pooh since the older often told him when they were little that the tanned male was soft and cuddly and despite Renjun hating skin ship, he'd sometimes let Donghyuck have his way.

"Bye bye, Tigger!" Donghyuck responded and the two parted ways into their separate door entries.
