Renjun pulled the car up into the high school parking lot, everybody stepping out of the vehicle. Donghyuck skipped next to Mark, which the younger couldn't see the clenched fists of the agitated attitude of the older.

"Wow. You look hot- good! I meant good! You look good!" Donghyuck blurted, covering his eyes with his hands while his friends laughed at his flustered state, though Renjun only rolled his eyes.

"Uh, thanks? You're fine," Mark replied and stepped inside the school building, leaving Donghyuck to drool over the older's outfit.

"Close you mouth or a fly might get in," Jaemin popped up besides Donghyuck, snapping the tanned male out if his trance and blushed.

"Let's just go in and get this night over with," Renjun stated and Donghyuck frowned.

"Why? Don't you want to have a good time?" Chenle asked his older cousin who shook his head no in response.

"But-"

"Renjun!" That deep yet soft voice called out from the other side of the parking lot, making his way towards the said male.

"Oh! Hi, Jeno!" Renjun greeted with a smile, the first smile Donghyuck has seen his best friend put on throughout the entire time they were together and 'made up.'

"Who's he?" Donghyuck questioned, not meaning to come off as rude.

"Oh right. Jeno, this is my best friend Donghyuck. Donghyuck, this is-"

"Jeno, yeah. I got the name already," Donghyuck cut his best friend off and left to go inside the building, Jaemin and Chenle quickly following behind.

"Um, did I do anything wrong?" Jeno asked, scratching the back of his nape while Renjun shook his head. "No. We just made up so we're still trying to work things out."

"Ah, I see. So then you haven't really made up with him yet then," Jeno concluded and Renjun scoffed.

"You make it seem like I'm the one in the wrong," Renjun defended himself and Jeno brought his hands up in defense.

"I'm not picking sides. There were two people when the problem was started and there has to be the same two people in order for that problem to be solved civilly," Jeno exclaimed and Renjun thought hard on his words.

"I guess. Maybe we'll talk it out after this whole winter formal. That way hyuck won't be so busy drooling over Mark and whining about what he should wear to impress him," Renjun rolled his eyes.

"Why don't you just tell him?" Jeno asked and Renjun looked up at the younger in confusion.

"Tell him what?"

"That you like him," Jeno shrugged his shoulders as the two slowly made their way into the building.

"Pfft! What?! Me? Like him?! No fucking way. You're out of your mind," Renjun chuckled in amusement while Jeno stopped walking, causing the older to stop as well.

"You sure you don't like him?" Jeno questioned, this time more of a serious tone intervening his words which made the older shiver at the older's deep voice.

"Of course I don't. How could I have feelings for my best friend? That's ridiculous," Renjun said, using his hand to wave dismissively in the air.

"Great, so that gives me a chance then. Doesn't it?" Jeno said with a cheeky smile, his eyes turning into crescents as he pat the older's head and walked into the building, leaving behind a shocked and blushing Renjun who didn't know what to say but just went inside.

Renjun made his way over to his friends who were already grabbing food and drinks by the stand. He saw Donghyuck frowning slightly so he made his way over to him. Though before he could do that, Jaemin was already asking him what was wrong as Chenle was somewhere in the building with Jisung.

Turns out, they didn't have chicken tenders which Donghyuck really wanted to eat today for some reason. The older scoffed at the fact of how similar Donghyuck and Chenle could be sometimes. They also didn't have the snack that he always buys for Mark which made him even more upset because he wanted to give the older something as a thank you for coming to the winter formal with him.

"Well, Mark is over there so why not ask him to dance with you for a song or two?" Jaemin suggested and Donghyuck's face lit up, immediately making his way over to the older.

"Jaemin! Why would you suggest that?!" Renjun scolded the younger who shrunk his shoulders from being yelled at.

"Why not? He was upset. I'm sure a dance with Mark will cheer him up," Jaemin reasoned out, but Renjun clicked his tongue.

"Did it ever cross your mind that maybe Mark doesn't want to dance with hyuck?" Renjun exclaimed and Jaemin shrugged his shoulders, making the older grab his hair in frustration.

"I just gave him the suggestion. And whether he takes it or not is entirely up to him," Jaemin defended himself. "Besides, I think Mark might actually have a soft spot for our Haechannie."

Donghyuck pushed his way through the crowd, excusing himself here and there as he finally reached Mark who was standing by the exit doors by himself. He tapped the older's shoulder, allowing the taller to face the younger and raise his brow, which Donghyuck mentally captured a picture of his flawless face in his brain.

"Do you want to dance with me?" Donghyuck shyly asked, his hands clasped behind his back as he swayed from side to side.

"No," Mark flatly said.

"But I can dance pretty good I'd say! And it'll only be for one song! Please~" Donghyuck begged the older, this time grabbing Mark's arm and shaking it slightly.

"I said no. Get off of me," Mark said in a cold manner, his tone sending shivers down the younger's spine who continued to provoke him.

Donghyuck wasn't going to take no for an answer so he dragged the older's arm to the middle of the room to dance. He held Mark's arms and wrapped them around his waist while Donghyuck wrapped his own arms around Mark's neck, the older's uncomfortable face unfortunately going unnoticed.

Donghyuck didn't know that what would happen next would probably be the most humiliating and heartbreaking thing he has ever been through yet, in such a long time.

I apologize that my updates haven't been going according to schedule. Everything has been pretty busy and hectic lately with school starting soon as it is just around the corner, studying for state tests, and some tasks/jobs that I need to get done.
