"They are controlled by your crystal, kiddo, not powered. Your crystal is just what gives it the kick. You'd wear out too fast if they were powered entirely by your crystal."
"You use her life force to help power this thing?" Varick didn't seem to like that.
"We found the connection made it easier for her to control and harness her abilities in tune with the suit," I stated.
"You shouldn't be using her crystal at all for your form of power!" He snapped suddenly.
"Whoa, Varick! It's alright! It doesn't hurt me! It actually really helps-"
"How do you know that? How do you know he isn't trying to steal or replicate your power? What if he's draining your life force by connecting it!?"
"I would never give my daughter a suit that could harm her health," I said, stepping up. I'd finally had enough. I know why you let her come, asshole. You aren't gonna steal her again.
"Tony, please! Let's not have this blow-up, okay?" Pepper stated. "We can promise you that it doesn't hurt her."
"Yes. Brother, it's alright. I'm sure that the suit was built to help her. There's no need for anyone to get worked up. Let's not have a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding? You mean like how Izz is misunderstanding what exactly you're doing to her?" I asked. Varick started growling and I saw his eyes turn over like Izetta's used to. Fawn looked nervous. Izetta looked confused.
"Dad, what are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about how they plan to keep you away from us forever! You didn't see the signs!? They kidnapped you! He wants to leave and never come back! This isn't a 'visit'! Not to them! They wanted you to say goodbye!" Her eye's widened. She turned to them.
"Fawn...you said you talked to him." Fawn bit her lip.
"Izetta...this...isn't our home. We promised Mother we'd stay together. We...we thought that if you had closure, it would-"
"What!?" She exclaimed. "You wanted me to leave forever!?"
"See? I knew it!" I called my own suit to me, walking forward. "You aren't taking her anywhere!" Varick suddenly transformed. I was surprised by how much larger he was the Izz. He stalked forward.
"We're taking her home."
"You aren't going to steal my daughter!"
"She's not your daughter!" He snarled at me. "She's our sister! You aren't even her real family and you have the audacity to claim her like she's just another trophy!? I'd say you have enough toys already," He growled.
"Varick, Tony, stop it!" Izetta yelled.
"Izz, this is our business," I told her.
"No, it's not! It's mine!" She snapped. We both looked at her. "Don't I get a say in this, huh!? In my life!?"
"Your life is supposed to be spent with us!" Varick told her. "It was spent with us!"
"No, it wasn't! You said I was taken away and that you waited hundreds of years to get me back! My life was spent in chains!"
"We needed to be prepared to help you!" He argued.
"Please, everyone stop! This doesn't have to be a fight!" Fawn stated. Izetta turned to her.
"And you have a right to say that? You lied to me! You said we could work things out!"
"I'm trying, Sister!"
"You're just trying to help him!"
"ENOUGH!" There was suddenly a blast. I was knocked over by a heatwave. I saw that Varick was now on fire. His crystal was glowing. "We're going home. We never should've come here!"
"Brother-" Fawn tried to intervene, but his crystal glowed brighter.
"We're leaving." Izetta glared at him.
"I'll leave if I want to leave!" He said nothing. Fawn looked scared and I tried to blast him. However, vines protected him from the blast. Varick growled at me. Fawn looked guilty.
"I'm sorry," She muttered.
"They aren't your family," Varick hissed. "And you need to be reminded of our promise." I reached out as I saw him grab her.
"Izz!"
"Tony, wait!" Pepper called. Izz turned to me, reaching out too.
"Dad!"
"Izetta!" There was a flash and then they were gone. "NO!" I looked around. "Izz!?" Pepper rushed over, looking around too.
"...They're gone." I refused to accept it.
"...I'll find them. I have to find them."
"Tony," I turned to Pepper. "there's nothing else you can do. It's up to Izetta now." I hated that feeling. I was helpless again, but I had to trust her.
"...She'll come home." Pepper nodded.
"She's strong. She'll figure out a way to come back. I know it."
"...But how long is that going to be?"
"...I don't know."
