"Bruce, we do care. It's not like-"
"I know you care, he doesn't."
"I care! I'm just- I'm putting together the team. The Hulk is the fire!"
"Thor." He's not helping at all.
"Wait, you're just using me to get to the Hulk."
"What? No!"
"It's gross. You don't care about me. You're not my friend."
"No! I don't even like the Hulk! He's all like, 'smash, smash, smash!' I prefer you!" I sighed. I'm starting to see a pattern here. Bruce appreciated it at least.
"Thanks."
"But if I'm being honest, when it comes to fighting evil beings, he is very powerful and useful."
"Yeah, Banner's powerful and useful, too."
"Is he though?"
"Thor!" I snapped at him. I went to the other side of Bruce. "Look, Bruce, I know this is a lot. I know it's crazy and weird and dangerous, but that's all our lives are anymore. And if we're going to get out of here, no matter what, we need to work together. To be honest, the only reason I've been able to push through is because I've had you with me. Even if you were the Hulk, I was still scared and lost, but in there somewhere was you. You helped me. You were still in there. So I need you to step up like you did before. Are you with us or not? Because I need the answer now." I told him. He nodded after a moment.
"Yeah, okay. You're right. I'm with you." I smiled and we all stood up together. Thor grabbed a cloth from behind us. "What are you doing with that?"
"I need a disguise. I'm a fugitive." He replied.
"I need a disguise."
"You are the disguise," Thor explained. "You and Izetta are already in disguises. Right? They didn't see your human form?"
"No, I was careful." Bruce put on a pair of glasses from the pocket of Tony's shirt.
"I'll be Tony Stark."
"What?"
"Yeah. Tony, his daughter, and the gypsy."
"No, no, you're not Tony. You're Bruce Banner," Thor insisted.
"Yeah, please don't be my dad, Bruce."
"Then why did you dress me up like Tony?"
"Because you were naked," We answered together. He paused for a moment before nodding.
"Okay, I'll give you that." He adjusted the crotch of his pants and I looked away again.
"Why do I always get stuck with the babysitting job?" I muttered to myself, making sure they didn't hear me as they bickered back and forth. I sighed as Thor had to calm him down again.
"Hey, jumpy and stupid, let's get moving already. Okay?" I said, losing my patience and leading the way once more.
"I say we follow her lead."
"Like we have a choice."
"You're good. Calm down. Come on. Listen, we're gonna go to Asgard and you're not gonna have to think about the Hulk ever again. Alright?" Thor asked. Bruce nodded.
"Alright." He then got hit in the face with green powder. I chuckled a little.
"Well, that is, if we can get there before you two make yourselves look even stupider." We kept going, but it wasn't long before we lost Bruce in the crowd. Someone tried to attack him, but Thor and I stepped in. Of course, before Thor could land a punch, he was shocked and he fell over, revealing Valkyrie. Oh great...this again.
"Hi."
"Hi," They said one after the other.
"I was gonna do that."
"Yeah, well, I did it first."
"Does that really matter right now?" I asked. "Why are you here?"
"What are you doing here? I thought you were leaving."
"We got sidetracked," Thor answered.
"What's with the...?" She said, gesturing to the cloth.
"It's my disguise."
"But I can see your face."
"Not when I do this, you can't." He said, pulling the cloth over his face. "Your hair looks nice. I like what you did with it. Change it? Washed it, maybe?" She started to leave, gesturing for us to follow. I sighed.
"Well, even if it's a trick, there's three of us and one of her. Let's go."
"What are those things on her eyes? Are those people that she's killed?"
"Not now, Bruce. Let's just get moving."
"She's so beautiful and strong and courageous."
"Who is this guy?" She asked.
"Uh, he's a friend."
"Me? I'm Bruce." She turned.
"I feel like I know you."
"I feel like I know you too." If only you two knew.
We headed inside to a place where it was safe for us to talk privately. We stood together as she started to explain. I noticed that there was something different in her this time. She seemed to actually care about helping us.
"Look, I've spent years in a haze trying to forget my past. Sakaar seemed like the best place to drink and forget and to die one day."
"I was thinking that you drink too much, and that probably was going to kill you," Thor admitted.
"I don't plan to stop drinking,"
"Oh."
"but I don't want to forget. I can't turn away anymore. So, if I'm donna to die, well...it may as well be driving my sword through the heart of that murderous hag."
"Good," Thor exclaimed.
"Yeah," Bruce added understandingly.
"So, I'm saying that I wanna be on the team. Has it got a name?"
"Yeah, it's called the, uh, the...Revengers."
"Revengers?"
"Because I'm getting revenge. You're getting revenge." She nodded a bit. "Do you want revenge?" Thor asked me and Bruce.
"I'm-I'm undecided." I shrugged.
"Well, I'm up for a good serving of justice, I'll say that."
"Okay!"
"Also, I've got a peace offering."
"And what's that?" I asked. I almost regretted hearing the answer.
