Twilight headed towards the cafeteria to the table where her friends were sat, discussing topics happily. They hadn't heard the news. Twilight's eyes were still red and blotchy, she, hadn't bothered attempting to cover the fact she'd been crying. She intended to tell her friends anyway.
She perched herself on the edge of the bench, and looked up towards her friends.
"Hey Twi-" Rainbow Dash began, before stopping. Her words coming to a sudden halt as she saw her friend's pained face. "What's happened?"
Twilight bowed her head, and took a deep breath. "Flash..."
The friends frowned, and Rarity spoke up. "Come on Twi. You can talk to us."
Twilight raised her head. "I caught Flash and Sunset kissing..."
A gasp erupted into the air. "What?"
She nodded sadly. "Yeah... He told me Sunset kissed him... I just, I don't know what to do."
"Look, Twilight..." Apple Jack began, struggling for words. "I know this has hurt you a lot, but if Flash has done this to you... He isn't worth your tears."
"I know... I know..." Twilight mumbled. "I just need time to think..."
The friends nodded. "Just know Twilight... If you need us, we're here darling." Rarity announced. A group of agreeing mumbles, coming from the group of friends.
"For now, the best thing for me, is a distraction." Twilight added. "So, what have you girls been up to?"
The sad chatter quickly changed from what it once was, to an energetic discussions about sights and sounds of them all. As the dinner hour ticked away, Twilight began to forget about recent events. She felt far better, but she still ached a little, deep down.
A small cough came from slightly behind the group of friends causing them all to turn and glance towards the noise. Sunset Shimmer stood sheepishly behind them all, fidgeting with her fingers, and looking down at the floor.
"Hi guys...." She mumbled. "Twilight, can I talk to you?"
"I'm not sure she's going to want to talk to you." Rainbow quickly blurted out. "No offence and all... But after what you did, I don't think-"
"It's okay Rainbow." Twilight interrupted. "I'll talk to you Sunset..." She stood up slowly, and pushed in her chair, taking as much time as possible before standing to the side with Sunset, unsure what to say. She could barely look at her in the eye.
"Look, Twilight..." Sunset began. "I know I'm new to this whole friendship thing, but I know what I did was wrong. Friends don't do that... I understand if you can't forgive me. But, I am truly truly sorry for what happened. And even if you don't forgive me... Forgive Flash. I kissed him! He went to push me away! He was only being nice to me, but I mistook it. I'm so sorry. At least talk to Flash. He still loves you..."
Twilight bit her lip before sighing. "You deserve another chance... But we'll never be friends like we could have been after this... As for Flash, I... I just can't bring myself to face him..."
"He did nothing wrong!" Sunset urged. "Please! Talk to him. Don't let my mistake ruin this for you."
Twilight nodded weakly. "Okay, I guess you're right. I'll- I'll talk to him..."
