A Shimmer Of A Flashing Twilight

Twilight stood by the side of the corridor, watching the wave of people scurry into the school. She was alone, her friends had confined on without her due to her encouragement. Flash had messaged her eagerly in the morning, telling her frantically that he had some exciting news, and that he wanted to share it with her first. She felt honoured and privileged that despite it all, he had come to her first.
Her eyes scanned the corridors, taking in every face she saw until finally, her eyes rested on a familiar face with blue hair.
"Flash!" She happily called him over, her heart thumping as he approached her. She knew she'd never rid herself of her feelings.
"Hey Twilight!" Flash beamed, making his way towards her before stopping, and standing beside her. "It's great to see you again... I mean, really! Thank you for forgiving me. I'm going to make it up to you."
"Flash..." Twilight chuckled. "It's okay! Now, tell me... What's this exciting news?"
Flash's face lit up. "Well... Me and the band decided we want to take action upon our career a while back, and so we visited a record company; EXtrah. Yesterday, we got a letter from them asking us if we'd like to audition for a record deal!" His face was full of excitement as he bounced a little off the ground causing Twilight to laugh, and smile.
"That's amazing Flash! Well done, I know you'll ace it!" She grinned, giving him a quick hug.
"Thank you! One last thing..." Flash began, little nervously. "We'll need support, and, I was wondering if you'd like to come along, and support us?"
"Oh, I'd love to, Flash!!!" Twilight nodded with agreement happily.
Flash looked at her, shocked she said yes, but delighted to hear her answer. "Thank you Twi." He glanced at all the moving people. "I best head off to class, but, I'll see you later?"
She nodded. "See you later Flash." She continued smiling until he disappeared into the crowd.
Looking around, she could see none of her friends, she decided to head to the library until lunch. She spun on her heels, a little too fast, and found herself crashing straight into someone and causing them both to end up sprawled on the floor.
"Oh! I am so sorry!" She gasped in horror.
The other person managed to scramble to their feet in seconds, dust down their clothes, and offer their hand to Twilight. "It's okay." A smooth male voice announced. Twilight took his hand, and pulled herself up. "Thanks."
"No problem." He smiled.
Twilight looked up at who she'd crashed into, and a pair of hazel eyes stared back at her. He had short orange and yellow hair, and a grin on his face. He looked like fire. Twilight hasn't realised she was staring until the boy coughed. "You okay?"
"Yes! Yes, sorry..." She blushed a little. "It's just, I've never seen you around before? Are you new?"
He nodded in response. "First day. Name's Fireshot."
She giggled to herself, Fireshot... Makes sense with all the fire hair.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle." She smiled. "And I'm still sorry for crashing into you."
"And I'm still forgiving you!" He smirked.
"Hey, um, maybe I could make it up to you? I'll walk you to class?" Twilight suggested.
Fire nodded. "Sounds like a plan! Actually, it would be a great help... I have no idea where I'm going. This-" He waved a map of the school at her. "Doesn't help at all! I need to get 34B."
"Come on." Twilight chuckled. "I'll show you."
Following Twilight's lead, Fire hurried after her.
"So what made you move to Canterlot High?" Quizzed Twilight as they walked.
Fire shrugged. "My family said they wanted a change. New scenery and all that."
"I see." Twilight glanced at him. "You don't seem very happy about the move?"
"I'm not." He sighed. "Would you be if you had to leave all your friends behind?"
"No...." Twilight shook her head. "Well, you haven't arrived at the most normal of schools, but I'm sure you'll fit in perfectly!"
"I doubt that..." Fire mumbled.
"Why?" Twilight asked curiously.
"I'm not good with any subject except sports. I might fit in with them, but I'm not going to make the school happy."
Twilight smiled softly. "Hey, studying isn't for everyone... But, I could help you study?"
"You could?" Fire asked hopefully.
Twilight nodded. "Yeah! I'm good at studying, if I do say so myself. I'll be happy to help!"
"Thank you." He beamed, as they stopped in front of a door.
"You're welcome." She grinned. "Here's 34B."
He looked up at the door. "Thanks, I'll see you around Twilight?"
She nodded. "I'm sure of it." She smiled before forcing her way through the crowd towards the library.
