jingles of the door opening made chaewon lift her head from the counter. it had been quite the slow day, so chaewon drifted off. it's not like mrs. kim would get mad over her falling asleep, so this happened more often than not.

"oh sorry did i wake you up?" a boy who chaewon couldn't see clearly, laughed.

"huh- ohhh i remember you," the girl rubbed her eyes before continuing, "you here to rob the store again?"

"actually, i don't know why i'm here."

chaewon nodded, still half asleep. "so, do you want to sit down then?" she gestured to another stool behind the counter, noticing that the boy was awkwardly standing by a shelf. honestly she was kind of glad that he came since she really didn't have anything to do.

sitting down, the boy introduced himself. "hi, i'm chenle," he smiled and reached out his hand for a shake.

"chaewon."

"wow, you're dry"

"sorry i'm tired," chaewon awkwardly laughed, "hey, i feel like i've seen you before somewhere, but not from the other time you came here."

"been on television a couple times because of the connections of my family and friends. i'm really a face you cant forget, huh?" chenle put an ironic smirk on his face, making chaewon giggle.

"so, are you like rich? you practically bought the whole store last time."

"nah, i just happened to have come then after my weekly bank robbing."

the two spent the next couple minutes joking around as if they'd known each other for years. chaewon and chenle actually made quite good friends, matching each other's energy through the volume, so they even traded numbers to stay in contact. somehow the pair made it to the topic of their timers when chaewon noticed the boy's as he was adjusting his hair.

"i have another year and two months, what about you?"

"just a week," chaewon practically squealed, making it clear that she was excited.

chenle's expression must have changed drastically because chaewon had a really big look of confusion on her face.

"oh wow, congratulations," chenle smiled, "you know actually, my friend's timer is also at a week today and his feelings on it seem the exact opposite as yours"

it was chaewon's turn to be shocked at his words. "dude this is like the 3rd person i've heard is going to meet their soulmate on the day in this area. anyways, i hope his feelings change on this."

"same, i don't want him hurting anyone or himself."

"what the fuck, chenle."

"huh-"

"you're such a good friend. how- you know what? i'm telling my friends to be more like you even though they're already awesome" chenle laughed at chaewon's words and thanked her, before they returned to more random conversation until he had to leave.

"finally, you get off that phone. do you not care about me anymore? you usually bother me to the point i want to drop kick you to france," jisung complained the second chenle shut off his device, "do you have a girlfriend you're replacing me with?"

"wow jisung do you finally care about love?"

chenle looked at jisung as he smiled at him and thought about if he should tell jisung about the convenience store girl. since he spaced out for a bit, jisung started waving his hand in front of the other boy.

"oh sorry i was thinking about something, uh-" jisung tilted his head to that and his friend continued "ok so i met this gi-"

"stop, you going to break my heart and reject me"

chenle was dumbfounded by what his best friend just said and forgot what he was talking about. "what."

"oh zhong chenleeeee~ i wuv you so much!!" jisung squealed out in a high pitched voice, chenle blinking in response. then he got up and headed out the door, jisung screaming after him.
