"i told you not you not to come," chaewon muttered, glancing at her best friend as she placed her keys on the table. when she had come home after meeting jisung, her notification center was just a bunch of spam texts from minji.
"i had to make sure you're okay and i practically live here anyways."
"i'm fine," minji raised an eyebrow at this but decided to not question further and headed to the kitchen to get some food. she sighed, knowing that chaewon was lying and hiding her emotions again. for all the years that she's known chaewon, the girl always had that habit and minji could see right through it.
"since you say that you're alright, do you wanna watch a movie then?"
the two girls were watching titanic for what was like the 100th time and they were nearly an hour in when chaewon broke the silence.
"they're like soulmates aren't they? jack and rose."
minji glanced at chaewon, taking in the sad expression on her face as she stared at the screen. as much as she tried to conceal it, minji could tell that something had gone wrong with her friend's soulmate and her heart sunk a little thinking about it. at minji's silence chaewon turned and saw her gaze on her.
"i'm fine, stop staring."
"yea right. chae, i'm not forcing you but you should talk about it. i know something happened."
chaewon smiled at her friend's concern but still insisting that everything was fine. "well i met him..." she murmered at her lap before looking up at minji and continuing, "he's an asshole though. like he didn't even want to see me and said that the soulmate thing was bullshit..."
usually the other girl would start making other remarks, but she looked at chaewon in a way urging her to continue. she knew that chaewon had a lot of emotions inside and it would be best for her to let it all out.
"i'm just pissed, minji. like i understand that he doesn't have to be all lovey dovey, but that emo looking street lamp didn't need to be so fucking rude."
minji snorted, immediately covering her face when she saw chaewon smiling back at her. "EMO LOOKING STREET LAMP- okay keep going, drag the shit out of this guy."
"you know i'm too nice for that, even if i'm mad." chaewon smiled, hugging minji.
"true, but bitch you better let it out any time you need to. anyways, i'm gonna find the address of this 'street lamp' and we can beat him up together," minji tried keeping a serious face as she hugged back, but in the end made both of them laugh.
chaewon continued watching the movie with minji, her mind off her still secret soulmate, but still in her heart she was a bit heartbroken. she really appreciated her best friend for keeping her company and pushing her to rant since it lifted some of the weight.
