on a regular day, the hall would have a few maids or guards roaming around, but to jisung's surprise the whole floor was completely deserted. soon realizing that this was true for his entire wing of the palace, he simply just walked out from one of the side entrances.

when the boy opened his phone a few blocks from the palace gates, he noticed the text his butler had sent him.

"what does he me- oh." jisung immediately lowered the hand that was combing through his hair and stared at the writing.

his eyes widened but he swallowed in any other reaction, since he had to be on the low. a second later, he shrugged off the shock and made a plan to ignore anyone he passes and to maintain at least 5 feet of distance to avoid any interaction.

the time was just past 4pm, so it was still considerably bright outside. this made it harder for jisung to hide himself in the crowd so his feet led him to a small neighborhood by the palace.

although he'd lived barely a mile away from here all his life, jisung had only come here a few times with chenle when they were children. walking along the streets, he finally got where he wanted to come.

the place he stood in front of wasn't too different from his memory, surprising him. there were kids happily playing in a sandbox and playing tag in the grass. it would be too risky hanging around here with so many people, so he took one last glance at the place and walked to a shadowy back road, a long path leading to a more secluded area.
