despite saying multiple times that she was okay, not only to minji but herself, she was anything but that. chaewon couldn't believe that she was sad over some boy, honestly she was kind of mad at herself for it. still, she did wait years and years for this moment, romanticizing about it before she went to sleep, just to get her hope up in the end.
she had though of all the possibilities of how it could have gone wrong, but had managed to convince herself that everything would be alright. "hundreds of couples meet everyday, and it goes just fine" she would say to herself, and she didn't think that she would have to face heartbreak like this. in all the bad scenarios that she thought of, she had never once considered that someone simply didn't want a soulmate.
chaewon sighed and shook her head a little, going back to listening to minji's list of hot people she saw today. 'i can worry about this later. it'll all work out in the end right?'

"so, you're back?" jisung nearly hit his desk, seeing three pairs of eyes staring at him as he walked into his bedroom. on his bed sat mr. lim, chenle, and mark, all staring at him with great interest.
"what do you guys want?" jisung asked slightly annoyed, considering he was tired from walking around all day. the quick glance they all took at his wrist didn't go missed by him. "oh."
"what do you mean 'oh'. you literally just me-"
jisung cut chenle off by saying "does it matter? i don't even know that girl. and if you're going to ask me more questions and try to convince me to suddenly fall in love, get out." the three on the bed just looked at him in silence, since it seemed that came out harsher that it was meant to be.
"why are you just looking at me?"
"dude..." mark looked at jisung's firm glare and went quiet, not wanting to argue. this whole soulmate thing was a sensitive topic for jisung anyways.
"wow park jisung, you truly are stupid." mark and chenle's eyes immediately shot at mr. lim for saying that, since he was saying that to the literal prince. "did you just leave the girl where you met her?"
jisung just nodded, and mr. lim let out a soft laugh, slightly shocking the boy. "jisung, i didn't take care of you for your entire life, just for you to have no game at all. you had the universe plan a whole soulmate for you and you still managed to blow it."
"BAHAHAHAHA-" the laughter of chenle and mark was cut off by mr. lim smacking their heads. still holding in their laughter, they looked up at jisung who was sending a blank stare down at them.
"dude, why did you never tell us that mr. lim had humor?" mark asked the youngest, as he continued looking at them with a bitter look on his face.
"get out," was all jisung said before walking into his bathroom to take a shower.
"come on boys, we have to let the boy repair his ego, he's never really been good with that." the man smiled at jisung's friends and got up from the bed. working with the royal family since before jisung was born, he understood jisung's reaction better than anyone and knew that the young prince needed some time to think for himself.
♚
jisung stood under the running water, deep in thought. first of all, his ego was definitely damaged by mr. lim's words, even though he didn't want to admit to himself. 'no game, huh? then why are hundreds of girls in the country drooling over me?' jisung scoffed, he completely had a reason for leaving that girl behind. right? well, he did did feel kind of bad.
despite seeming like a spoiled rich prince, he did have manners and he obviously wasn't using them when he left his 'soulmate' with tears in her eyes. her eyes. even though he didn't care, he could basically see her pain by looking into her eyes, and it did hurt him a little.
she just seemed so, heartbroken? 'well, obviously idiot. you probably ruined something that was important to her.' jisung thought to himself, but eventually shook it out of his thoughts. the whole soulmate thing was pointless anyways. 'just look at my parents...'
jisung stepped out of the bathroom, rubbing his wet hair with a towel, just to see chenle sitting in his bed playing games on his phone.
"took you so long, powder princess," chenle chuckled, bothering the prince further.
"if you're going to bother me, go away."
"fine, fine, i won't. i don't want your lack of game seeping into m- ow, dont throw that crusty towel at me."
jisung rolled his eyes, taking his towel back to dry his blonde hair. "it's not my fault for making that girl cry. it's the stupid soulmate bond dragging me into this."
at this, chenle just stared, his mouth slightly agape. "you made her cry?! i knew you'd fuck this up, but not this bad..."
"i couldn't just stay and talk to her though."
"jisung, it's a girl. they aren't that hard to talk to..."
"yea, but-"
"forget it, this conversation won't go anywhere. i'm leaving."
jisung was surprised that chenle didn't stay to push more information from him, but he was kind of glad. talking about that girl would only make him feel guilty anyways. as he tucked himself into bed that night, he noticed that he was feeling much sadder than he was supposed to be feeling.
'stupid bond making me feel her emotions. why's she so sad anyways? i wasn't that harsh...'
