"i just wanted to see the tattoo, nothing else. it's gonna be on your body forever y'know. anyways, go get ready i have something to show you later."

while he was brushing his teeth, jisung's curiosity got the best of him and he stared down at his wrist. the black diadem was small, so dainty you had to be within a few feet to see it. he did have to admit, it was pretty but he didn't like that it was permanently engraved into his skin. he didn't like the fact that the girl had it too.
when he walked back into his bedroom, jisung saw chenle tapping his phone rapidly. he looked so focused, which was weird considering he was just texting.
"chenle, why do you look so focused? you look like you're making a business deal or something."
"this is way more important than a stupid business deal." chenle had been asking chaewon exactly what time her shift started and ended, but he wasn't going to tell jisung that so he just ignored his friend's questioning expression.
"okay, i can't show you what i wanted to for another few hours so just do whatever i guess."
"i got ready so fast and for wh-" before he could even finish his sentence, chenle jumped under jisung's sheets and dozed off to sleep. "guess i'll go back to sleep then too..."

chaewon sat at the billing counter of the store, buried in notebooks and textbooks. although she was quite heartbroken at the moment, her school work never stopped, hence she did it while at work. her shift rarely had any people, so most of the time she could do anything she wanted.
feeling unmotivated to continue her schoolwork, chaewon stretched as she got up from her chair, and decided to restock the shelves. she got done with the snacks quite quickly, even if looking through expiry dates was a headache. as she picked up the box for the miscellaneous isle, she smiled picking up a toy tiara.
it reminded her of her soulmate tattoo, something that made her kind of sad, but she still smiled about to stay positive. other than the fact that they symbolized two people's bond, chaewon had learnt that each tattoo had a meaning for each couple. she spent half the night restless, trying to figure out what the crown symbolized, without much luck.
she did think it was really pretty though. if it wasn't her soulmate tattoo, she felt that it was something she would have gotten inked onto her skin. chaewon couldn't tell if she was happy or not about the fact that this was stuck on her forever. it was for her and her soulmate, but what was the point if he didn't even like her?
before she started overthinking, chaewon sighed and placed the tiara onto it's respective shelf and moved on. she always tried to get the restocking done during her shift, so the other employees didn't have to worry about it. the girl hummed while filling the shelves, in her own world as she adjusted everything to be neat and tidy.

"bro, why the hell are we going to a convenience store right now?" jisung whined as he trudged behind chenle through an area with small shops, pulling his mask up to avoid anyone recognizing him. the place was cozy, and had a homely vibe to it, even if there were tall buildings not too far away. it was also close the park from the day prior, jisung noticed.
"i just uh, need um-"
"CONDOMS?! chenle- stop hitting me all the time"
"then don't scream 'condoms' so loud again, geez." chenle rolled his eyes at jisung, and quickened his pace as he approached the store he was looking for. he pushed opened the door and entered, leaving jisung to catch up outside.
"welcome to- oh hi, chenle!" chaewon greeted the boy by peaking her head out from behind a row of shelves, motioning him over she continued, "what're you here to steal today?"
before chenle could respond, the bell on the doors jingled and a smirk filled his face. again, chaewon peeked her head out to greet the customer. somehow, the second she put her eyes on him, her entire mood seemed to change. shaking the feeling off she smiled and was about to welcome him, but was interrupted by the newcomer himself.
"chenle...?" he glanced around confused, barely registering the girl's presence until his missing friend's head popped up above hers, a childish grin on his face.
chaewon could swear that his voice was familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it. glancing around at chenle, she saw him staring between the two looking quite amused. confused, she looked back at the tall blond guy at the enterance.
jisung looked back, realization hitting him, as he recognized the girl in front of him. but, it seemed that chaewon hadn't figured out what was happening yet, so chenle decided to take his plan a step further.
"ah jisung, could you help me pick a snack? chaewon here just restocked. oh chaewon, this is my friend by the way."
"oh uh, okay. nice to meet you, jisung right?" the girl smiled brightly, contrasting her teary eyes from the night prior.
chenle had to hold in his laugh when jisung started avoiding eye contact and responded with a quick nod. hurriedly, said boy walked past chaewon, next to his friend who he glared daggers at.
"why'd you bring me here and how did you know?" jisung aggressively whispered while pretending to look at a bag of chips. chaewon was still looking at him with a soft gaze, trying to pinpoint why he looked familiar and chenle innocently smiled at him as if he didn't fuck up his whole plan of avoiding chaewon.
while jisung roamed around the store for the next few minutes, he had to listen to the conversation that chenle and chaewon were having with a can of soda each. much to his luck, it was about him.
"so this guy just walked away? what a pussy." chenle glanced towards the shelves, knowing jisung was fully listening.
"right?! that dude really thought he could act rude and leave just because he was built like a minecraft enderman." chaewon exclaimed, hitting her sprite on the counter. at this comment, chenle burst out into loud laughter because he saw the way jisung's eyebrows shot up.
"hey who are you calling-" he began turning toward the girl, who tilted her head in confusion.
"wha... OH! YOU- you're the emo ass barney the dinosaur from yesterday!? no wonder you looked familiar..." chaewon practically yelled, everything clicking automatically after she heard the boy's voice again.
"BARNEY?! you little-"
"okay, okay break it up no need to to fight at this reunion." chenle immediately butted in, seeing as the two glared each other down.
"you knew??" chaewon looked at her new friend, slightly hurt, but he rapidly shook his head and clarified that it was just a hunch. then, she looked back at the tall figure by the shelves who was glaring at the two behind the counter with icy eyes. that's when another thing clicked.
'tall, blonde, jisung. that means...'
"wait a minute," chaewon tried remaining calm and stared back at jisung with the same intensity he was giving, "aren't you the prince?!"
