Season 1 Episode 2: Let Go
Vivienne and Buck stood next to each other as Bobby told them what was going on. "Gracie, Buck. We came in at the wrong angle. I'm gonna have you two climb up there, harness him in, and hang tight until we move the truck. You think you can handle that, Buck?" Bobby said to them. "Hell yeah. This daredevil hero stuff is what I signed up for, Bobby." Buck said to him as he gave Vivienne a smirk. "Good." Bobby said as he glared at Buck. Vivienne and Buck started climbing the ladder to the top. Vivienne hurried up the ladder as they were running out of time. As they reached the end of the ladder, it began extending. "Everybody, try to stay calm. We'll get you down, I promise, alright?" Buck spoke to them. Vivienne checked that his harness was on and he checked hers. "I need you to relax, I need you to breathe, and I need you to keep as still as possible. You move less, you stay safe." Vivienne said calmly to the people as her and Buck reached the track. "We get everyone off the ride safely." She adds.
"Go talk to him. I'll grab the harnesses." Vivienne tells Buck softly. She grabs the harnesses so they could move the truck into position. "Hey, what's your name, man?" Buck called out to the boy who was dangling. "Devon." Devon said as he pants. "Devon. Alright, Devon. Well, hang on, brother." Buck said to him as he began climbing. Vivienne follows him and is right behind him. Buck glanced at her before Devon spoke. "Where's Chad? What happened to Chad?" Devon asked nervously. "Dad, he's asking about his friend." Vivienne tells her father over the radio. "Chimney, it's captain. You copy?" Bobby asked over the radio. "Copy, Captain. What do you need?" Chim said over the radio. "How's the kid on the ground?" Bobby asked over the radio. "We lost him." Chim said over the radio. "Alright, I don't need the people up there seeing that. So, do me a favor... He survived, right? Put him on the gurney. You know the drill." Bobby tells him over the radio. "Copy that." Chim said as he went to do what Bobby said. "Hang in there guys. We're coming. We're almost there." Buck said to them. "What happened to Chad? He's dead, isn't he?" Devon yelled. "Hey, Devon. Look at me. Chad.. He's getting help. You see? He's gonna be fine. And I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, alright?" Buck said as he got to the car Devon was dangling from. "Is everyone okay?" He asked them. "No, we're not okay!" One of the girls replied as Vivienne crawled behind Buck. "Why is the fire truck going away?" ANother girl asked. "It's just getting into a better position, that's all." Vivienne said as she hands Buck the harness. "Devon, how are we doing?" She asked him. "It's gonna be everywhere." He rambles as Buck starts moving down closer to him. "It's all gonna be over the place." Devon continues. "Hey, forget about them, okay? You don't look down. You look at me and Vivi here. You see this strap here?" Buck held it out for him to see as he kneeled against the car. "All you gotta do is reach up your arm and slid it through the loop." Buck explained to him. "I can't! I can't." Devon yelled, his voice straining. "Yes, you can, buddy. You can do it." Buck reassured him as Vivienne crawls around to get close, Devon in reaching distance.
"Can you tell them to stop recording, please? I don't want everyone to see me like this. Please?" Devon whimpered. "Devon. Look at me. Listen, we need you to concentrate. Look at Buck now and slide your arm through the loop and then we can deal with everything else." Vivienne said to Devon softly. Vivienne could see that Devon either didn't want to or just couldn't as he remained clutching to the handles with both hands as tightly as he could. "Alright." Buck said as Vivienne saw him readjusting and reaching down with one hand. "Hey, reach up your hand. Come on. It's like, three inches. Devon. Devon, I need you to trust me. Give me your hand. I will not let go." Buck encourages him. Vivienne slid down a little further just managing to reach him from the left, if they could get him from both sides, they could get him up.
