Season 3 Episode 5: Rage
TW: Mentions of sickness and morning sickness.
It's been a few weeks since Vivienne found out that Buck was suing her father, the department, and the city. She hasn't been feeling well since that night he came over to tell her and Eddie. She's been up early in the mornings in the bathroom throwing up and she's noticing some of her old clothes don't fit her anymore either. She hasn't said anything to Eddie yet about it. Right now, they were on a call to a rage room. "Apart from a blowout bar, this is the dumbest thing people in L.A. pay money for." Hen said to them as they enter the room. "I think it's genius." Chimney said as they walked up to Athena. "Your victim's in there." Athena tells them. They looked around. "Where?" Bobby asked his wife. "There. Your victim climbed into the barrel after her BFF started chasing her with a sledgehammer." Athena explained to them. "I thought the point was to smash things, not each other." Eddie said confused. "Wife. Mistress." Athena said pointing to the respective people. "Adulterous slut!" The wife yelled. "Does the adulterous slut have a name?" Vivienne asked her mother. "Denise. She can't hear you very well in there." Athena tells her and Chimney. "Ears ringing." Chimney said with understanding.
Vivienne and Chimney make their way over to the rest of the team. "Denise, are you hurt?" Bobby asked loudly. "What?" Denise yelled. "Ah, looks like, she's sledgehammered in there pretty good, Cap." Eddie tells Bobby. "Lena, Eddie, saws and jaws." Bobby tells the two. "On it, Cap." Lena said as she and Eddie went to do it. "Denise, we're gonna cut you out of there." Chimney yelled loudly. "What?" She yelled back. Lena began sawing the barrel and then Eddie began prying it open. "You have the right to remain silent." Athena said to the girl in handcuffs. "Wait, excuse me. Please, don't arrest her. This is all my fault." Denise said to her. "You wanna be a better friend? Bail her out." Athena tells Denise. "I'd rather rot in jail than have her do another thing for me. I should've never trusted you! Consider this the end of our friendship! I hate you! Next time... " The girl snarled as the cops lead her away. "So much anger in the world these days. I can see why this place is all the rage. See what I did there? Chimney said as he stood next to Bobby as he looks at Vivienne and Hen. "Oh, we've seen it." Vivienne scoffs as she and Hen walks off.
Vivienne sat in the room with the lawyer across from Buck and his lawyer. "Really. My father treats me the same as everyone else on the team. I was stabbed in the appendix by Buck's ex brother in law, Doug and was out for 3 weeks." Vivienne said to Buck's lawyer. "And how bout the time you and Mr. Buckley were trapped under the firetruck?" Buck's lawyer asked her. "3 months. Only my ankle and my hip were crushed." Vivienne answered him. The lawyer looks at her. "What can you tell me about Minnesota?" His lawyer asked her. Vivienne's heart stopped. "What do you mean?" She asked quietly. "About the fire your mother and siblings were in." The lawyer asked her. She looks at Buck, who quickly looks away. "Leave them out of this. They have nothing to do with this." She snapped. "What about your father's chronic medical condition, Ms. Nash? I believe the National Institute of Health classifies alcoholism as a chronic brain disease." Buck's lawyer said to her. Vivienne glares at Buck. "Let me tell you something. My father is clean and sober. I go to every single meeting he has. You can check if you want." Vivienne snapped. "He is now, and he was before. But isn't it true that just about a year a half ago, he did a relapse?" Buck's lawyer asked. Vivienne's glare sharpens. "He did. But he's better now." Vivienne voice raised slightly. "But it was you, Ms. Wilson, and Mr. Buckley who found your father passed out in his apartment?" The lawyer pressed on. "Yes. That happened." Vivienne snapped. "Your father asked my client for help that day and that's exactly what he did, without hesitation. He helped your father get sobered up, and then he returned to his full duties as captain of the 118." The lawyer tells her. "Yes, that's all true." Vivienne snapped. "So isn't the only difference between your father's off-duty relapse and Mr. Buckley's is that he actually did everything in his power to help him return to his job?" The lawyer asked her. Vivienne glares at Buck.
