Season 2 Episode 1: Under Pressure
Vivienne was up in the kitchen area as her dad was downstairs with the rest of the team. She was keeping an eye on the stuff he was making for everyone as she scrolled her phone and ate some gummy bears. "You are cheery." She heard Hen say. "Why shouldn't I be?" Bobby asked her. "I don't know." Hen tells him. "Maybe cause you've been like this for weeks, and it's starting to get on my nerves. What's going on with you?" Hen said to him. Vivienne knew why he was cherry but didn't say anything as she kept an eye on her dad's food. "I got another DXA scan, and guess who dropped another half percent." Buck said to them as he walked up to them. "What?" Bobby asked him. "A DXA scan measures your body fat. You can see your percentage in every part of your body." Buck tells them. "Oh, yeah? They measure the fat in your head?" Chimney asked him. "Ah, see, that would be funny, but we're about a week away from submissions being due for the Hot Days, Smoldering Nights: Men of the LAFD wall calendar, and I'm already at my goal weight so it seems like my head is clearly working perfectly." Buck tells him. "Do you really need to use that whole title? You could say 'that idiotic, reductive, sexist calendar that insults the dignity of this organization and furthers the myth that all firefighters are male.'" Hen said to him. "Yeah, that's not any less words." Buck said to her. "Hen, come on, it's for charity." Bobby tells her. Hen looks at him. "No. Bobby, you, too?" Hen asked him in disbelief. "Well, why not? They say a man is at his sexiest when he reaches 50." Bobby said. Vivienne overheard that and faked gagged, causing the team to look up at her. "Sorry!" She yelled down at them with a smirk before going back to the food. "Is that what they say? That's what they say?" Hen said. "Okay, you're both wrong. All right? You see, I think sorority houses all across this great nation are ready for a new Asian sex symbol. It's our time." Chimney said. "I think it's great. You know? I like that you're both going up for it." Buck said with a smirk. "Oh, because you don't think that we have a chance." Bobby said to him. "Whoa, did I say that? I mean, sure, let's be real. They are picking one candidate from each station." Buck said to him. "Okay. That is a beautiful man." Chimney said as he looked across the room. "Where's the lie? And I like girls." Hen said agreeing with Chimney. "Who the hell is that?" Buck said, as jealousy consumes him. "It's Eddie Diaz. New recruit. Graduated top of his class just this week. Almost beat out Gracie's scores at the Academy. Guys over at Station Six were dying to have him, but I convinced him to join us." Bobby said to him with a smirk. "What do we need him for? Um.." Buck asked still feeling jealous as everyone laughed. "He served multiple tours in Afghanistan as an Army medic. Guys got a Silver Star. It's not like he's wet behind the ears. Come on, I'll introduce you to him. He likes to be called Eight Pack." Bobby said to him.
Bobby led the team, minus Vivienne who was still watching over the food, to meet Eddie. "Eddie, this Hen." Bobby said to him. "Nice to meet you." Eddie said to her. "This is Chimney." Bobby said to him. "Nice to meet you." Chimney said to him. "You too." Eddie said to Chimney as he saw a blonde girl up in the kitchen area. Chimney and Hen shared a smirk. "My daughter Vivienne is watching the food that I usually make for the team. You'll meet her in a few minutes." Bobby tells him. "I'm looking forward to it sir." Eddie tells him as he continues to look up towards the kitchen area feeling a bit intrigued by the blonde. A bell rang out, signalling a call for them to ring out. "Gracie! Turn off the stove and come on!" Bobby yelled to Vivienne who stood up and hurried to the stove and turned it off and ran down the steps.
"So, Silver Star, huh?" Chimney asked as he leaned over Vivienne who glared at her best friend. "Yeah." Eddie said with a smile. "You saved a platoon or something?" Chimney asked him. "No, no, nothing like that. Uh, just a convoy." Eddie said to him. Vivienne and Hen shared a smirk. "Eddie, uh, you heard about the hot firefighter calendar?" Vivienne asked the man curiously as Buck glared at her. "Sorry, the what?" Eddie asked her confused. "It's for charity." Hen said to him. Bobby laughs. "So, is your full name 'Eduardo'?" Buck asked him. "No." Eddie tells him. "People ever call you 'Diaz'?" Buck asked a bit aggressively. "Buck." Vivienne warned him. "It's okay. Not if they want me to respond." Eddie said to Vivienne before answering Buck. "Something's got to give. We got... We got Cap, Hen, Chimney, Vivi, Buck. We can't just call you 'Eddie'." Buck tells him. Vivienne sends Buck a glare. "Buck, leave it alone." Vivienne snapped at him. "Can't tell if he's being serious or not." Eddie said to the others. "I like to always operate under the assumption that nothing he says is serious." Chimney said causing the team to laugh.
