They reached the incident commander. "Captain. Chief Williams, incident command." Chief Williams said as the 118 approached her. "Captain Bobby Nash. How can we help you?" Bobby said to her. "Hotel manager said they were between checkout and check-in when the quake hit, so they were light on guests. We've made contact on most of those. Multiple evacs operations in progress. All but 12 of the 68 staff have been accounted for. It's been pretty chaotic." Chief Williams said as the team followed her. "The family back there said their little girl is still missing." Hen said to Chief Williams. "As long as it's still safe to do so, we'll be looking for any survivors." Chief Williams said as she led them to a bulletin board. "What do your engineers have to say?" Bobby asked her. "Looks like a brittle failure in the prestressed concrete section of the building underground parking garage, causing it to pancake at an angle. Right now the reinforced steel is the only thing keeping it from completely collapsing. One good aftershock..." Chief Williams said. "And the whole thing could come down." Vivienne finished her sentence causing the Chief to smile at her. "A high-rise is supposed to be the safest place to be when an earthquake hits." Buck said to them. "Not when you're built right on top of a fault line. This quake was a 7.1" Chief Williams said to them. "Northridge was a 6.7." Hen said in shock. "7.1- that makes the largest in SoCal in 20 years. And the last one was in Joshua Tree." Vivienne said to them. "How many crew do you have in there?" Bobby asked her. "Not enough. We've put in a request for Heavy Rescue 3 but they're on their way to a freeway collapse. We can use every hand we can get." Chief Williams said to them. "Thank you. Okay, listen up. Here's how you make it to then end of the day. You don't worry about the things that you can't worry about. Focus on one task at a time. I can't order you guys to go inside that building, and I'm not gonna judge you if you decide not to." Bobby said to the five of them. "Hen, you got a kid, so..." Chimney began to say. "Yeah, and I'd hope if someone whose job it was to save him had the chance, they'd do it. No matter what." Hen said with a smile. "Where do you want us?" Eddie asked as Vivienne stood between him and Buck. "Hey, you guys want to see this." A police officer came up to them.

The police officer led them to another area. "We could set up a bag street-side in case that window gives." Chimney said as they looked up at the window. "Nobody works under that side of the building. Somebody's gonna have to get him from the inside." Bobby orders. "Buck, Vivi, you say that's the 11th floor?" Eddie asked his two partners. "We would." Vivienne said with a smirk. "I bet we could take the ladder to that fourth floor. Cut the distance in half." Buck said to the two. "Head on up." Bobby said to the three. The three left.

Buck, Vivienne, and Eddie began climbing the ladder to the fourth floor. Eddie began breaking the window. "After Northridge, FEMA spent $200 million retrofitting every school in the LAUSD. Ceiling tiles, lighting fixtures... Eddie, your kid is in the safest place he can be." Vivienne said softly to Eddie. "Thought that was a high-rise." Eddie said with a smirk to Vivienne as the three entered the building. The three of them continued to make their way into the building. They hear the metal creak. "It's only six flights. Not exactly Mount Everest." Eddie said as they stopped to take a breath. "Yeah, except Everest might not tip over and crush you like a bug." Buck complained as he pants. They continued to walk. Buck almost tripped and fell. "You good, Buck?" Eddie asked as Vivienne went back and checked on him. "Yeah." Buck said as he pants. "Let's keep going." Vivienne said to them.

Eddie opens the door to the 11th floor. "All right. You two ready?" Eddie asked them. "Yeah, on three." Vivienne said with a smile.  "One, two, three." Buck said as they all went to the wall. "Hello! Hello!" Eddie shouts as they walked down the hallway. "LAFD!" Vivienne shouts as well. "In here! In here!" Someone shouts. "This one here." Buck said as they past a door. Eddie got the chainsaw and began sawing off the door. "In you go." Eddie said as he opened the door.  The three entered the room. "Hello. LAFD." Vivienne announced as they entered the room. "We're in here." Someone said. "In here." Another voice shouts. Buck, Vivienne, and Eddie carefully entered the room. "Thank god. Please, please, get me out of here." Ali said to them. "Whoa, whoa, ma'am, I-I need you to just sit tight. I will come and I will get you." Buck promised her. Vivienne knew that tone of voice he was using and she frowned a bit. Eddie noticed her frowning but didn't say anything. Buck motioned for Vivienne and Eddie to throw a rope which they did. "Uh, no offense, but I think this might be a situation  where 'women and children first' does not apply." Harlow said muffled. Vivienne face turns into disgust. "Did you just say 'no offense'? Everything about you is offensive." Ali said to him in disgust. "First date?" Buck asked curiously causing Vivienne to roll her eyes as they tied her and Eddie around the rope. "Yeah, God, he wishes. Amazingly that sweaty, fat, pock-mark pig is married with five kids. Didn't stop him from asking me to shower with him." Ali said causing Vivienne to glare at Harlow. "Man, have you not watched the news at all over the past year?" Buck asked. "All right, you're good." Eddie said to Vivienne. "All right." Vivienne said giving Eddie a smile. "Seriously, catch up with the times." Eddie said to Ali. "All right, fine, so I'm a dinosaur.  A forgotten relic of a forgotten age. For God's sake, just get me the hell out of here." Harlow said, as Vivienne and Eddie made their way over to him. "I'm gonna throw you a rope, okay?" Eddie said to Ali. "Okay." Ali said to him. "I'm gonna need you to try and secure yourself. Ready?" Vivienne asked her. Eddie threw it to her. They heard glass creaking. "Don't move!" Vivienne shouts at Harlow. Ali gasps. "Don't breathe." Eddie tells him. "Oh, God. Please don't let this be the end." Harlow said as the glass begins to break. "All right. I'm gonna tie this webbing around you, and we're gonna get you away from the glass." Eddie tells Harlow. They feel another quake. "Aftershock, aftershock!" Buck screamed. "Oh, god! Oh, God!" Harlow screamed against the window. They all screamed as Eddie grabbed onto Vivienne and tried to protect her. "No, don't!" Eddie yelled as the window broke and Harlow fell out. The rope broke and Ali flew out the window. Eddie and Vivienne quickly grab her and they pull her up with Buck's help.
