When Milly woke up, she didn't get up and update the whiteboard as she'd normally do. She just sat there in silence.
"Are you okay?" Jin quietly asked from his spot on the bed.
Milly should've been the one asking him that question. His hands were trembling slightly. Jin was shaken up. He didn't want to think about what he'd just witnessed. So, Jin distracted himself. He could see something had triggered the girl. And he was sure it was more than just shock.
"I did that once, you know?" Milly told him.
"Did what?"
"What Hobi did..." A beat of heavy silence passed.
"I just couldn't do it anymore. I was glad to go and stop reliving the same day. Only to wake back up in the same place. I am stuck here until my wish is finally fulfilled." Milly didn't look at Jin, she couldn't.
"What was your wish exactly?" Jin asked quietly.
Milly sniffed and wrung her hands together. "I wanted to be loved."
As Jin stood up, the sound of rustling fabric echoed through the quiet room. He walked over to Milly, who was sitting on the armchair. Without uttering a single word, he wrapped his strong arms around her, pulling her in for a warm embrace. The way he held her conveyed all the emotions he was feeling - compassion, comfort, and protection.
Milly closed her eyes, basking in the warmth of his hug, feeling safe and secure in his embrace. It was a moment of pure connection, a wordless conversation between two hearts that spoke volumes.

After Milly assured Jin she was fine, she finally dared to ask how he was doing.
He scrunched up his nose. "Honestly, I don't know." Jin sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He appreciated her concern but feared that dwelling on it too long might cause him to break down. "Let's just find the next person."
Milly knew he wasn't telling the whole truth but decided to let it slide. "Right, what do you have in mind?" She asked.
"Maybe we should let fate guide us since it is probably what brought us here in the first place." Jin suggested.
"That's not a bad idea, let's do it."
Once again, they left the apartment and turned right, for no other reason than Jin's bad dad joke about it being the 'right' way. Turns out, he was actually correct. This time anyway.

"Isn't that Namjoon? I can smell him." Milly sniffed the air as she pointed in the distance. Now, that sentence would've sounded weird to anyone who didn't know about Milly, but lucky for her Jin understood.
Namjoon was not too far away, at a gas station, seemingly arguing with a customer. Although both of them were shouting equally loud, it was evident that Namjoon was about to lose his temper.
Milly and Jin hurried over to the scene.
"Woah! Namjoon, calm down!" Jin was running to him before Milly could do anything about it.
Both Namjoon and the customer stopped yelling and turned to him.
"Jin?" It was clear Namjoon was surprised, but to say he was pleasantly surprised would be a lie.
The customer looked between the old friends and Milly for a moment before throwing his hands in the air.
"Whatever, I got more important things to do." He said as Milly reached them as well. Huffing, the guy stormed away. He probably got hot feet.

"Well, isn't this nice?" They turned to Namjoon. "You come back after all this time and the first thing you say to me is: 'calm down'?" If the sarcasm didn't point it out then his face did. Namjoon was angry at Jin.
Milly shuffled on her feet behind him. Jin tried to defend himself but Namjoon was faster.
"Came to introduce your girlfriend to me? The unimportant nobody who once was your classmate?"
Both the faces of Milly and Jin turned red.
"Is this your way of flaunting your perfect life in front of poor old me?!"
Well, this was going great. Milly stepped forward, trying to tell Namjoon it wasn't what he was thinking. That the two of them weren't even together. The words died in her throat as Namjoon glared at her.

There was a tense silence for a second until it broke by a door opening. Another guy, also looking angry, came outside and rushed over to the trio.
"What is wrong with you?! Stop bothering every customer we get! Leave this lovely couple alone and go vent your anger somewhere else!" He was wearing a dirty overall covered in old oil stains.
Jin guessed it was the owner of the gas station. He took a deep breath, his bushy moustache trembling. "In fact, don't bother to come in tomorrow. You're fired!"
Everyone gaped at the man. Namjoon looked ready to fight his boss but Milly and Jin were quicker.
"Nothing happened! He didn't do anything wrong!" Milly tried, earning an arched eyebrow from both the owner and Namjoon.
"Honestly, we were just passing by!" Jin added.
Milly glanced at the sky and saw the daunting Cracks had already appeared. They should've seen that one coming.
With a sigh, she pulled on Jin's sleeve and gestured to them. Namjoon and the owner also followed her finger with a frown. Jin looked at Namjoon with a sad smile.
"Goodbye Joonie." He muttered softly as the world around them shattered.
