Eventually, everyone settled in the sand when Jin sat down.
Milly could feel some eyes shifting to her ears, she however looked at the ground as if it was the most interesting thing around them.
Jin took a deep breath as he looked at the expectant stares his friends were giving him. "Before I begin..."
A few groans were heard, the anticipation was killing the boys.
"...Just know this is going to sound confusing and weird, but I'll- we'll do our best to make you understand. Also, don't take it the wrong way if we can't answer some of your questions. We just have to be careful, this cannot go wrong."
Milly nodded at Jin in support, squeezing his hand.
"Just get it over with." Yoongi sighed impatiently.
They now had to, otherwise...
Well, nothing good would come from it, Milly was sure.=❣=
At first, they stumbled over their words, not entirely sure where to begin and what to say.
Milly was just as scared as Jin to say the wrong thing.
"What was the last thing you remember of Jin's disappearance?" Milly inquired.
If they told her that, they might have a starting point.
Jin wondered if they remembered the very first encounter; when the eight of them met in the school building. Milly had told him they probably wouldn't, but still, the time had continued somehow.
"We were at our hide-out." Yoongi eventually told the two.
"You went outside and never came back." Taehyung said, rubbing his arm.
"I vaguely remember Jin coming back inside before leaving." Hobi frowned, their recollections not lining up.
"That day seems so foggy in my mind... Things just don't add up, I always thought that was just me though." Jimin quietly admitted.
Milly looked at them with sympathy. They had to have felt so lost.
"That's because Jin did vanish but also came back in." Milly ignored the confused eyes on her. She gestured for Jin to talk instead."The day I disappeared, I only meant to get some fresh air. I felt I had to be the responsible one, being the oldest, never showing it if I was stressed out. I was ashamed to admit it then, but it took quite a toll on me sometimes." Jin started, drawing patterns on the back of Milly's hand with his thumb to calm him down.
"We know you did. You were always the one who kept strong for us. You were the glue that kept us together. When you left, so did we." Jimin said. They all noticed that Jin never let them see he was struggling for their sake.
The silence that followed stretched on for a minute. Each of them was gathering their thoughts; Milly just let them be.
"I found myself thinking about everything that was going on in our lives. That's when I made a wish, I was wishing our problems away." Jin continued. "It seemed so insignificant then. If only I knew..." The boy scoffed at his past cluelessness."That's when he met me." Milly decided to speak up, seeing Jin was losing his train of thought.
Some boys frowned, astonished that Jin had known this girl for longer than they'd assumed.
"You know of our place?" Namjoon asked her.
Milly shook her head. "I do now, but not back then."
"I had closed my eyes for just a second while thinking. But when I opened them, I was not outside anymore. I was inside a room."
The couple knew that it sounded insane to the others, it had to.
"I was so disoriented. At first, I thought I was dreaming. However, everything felt so real; I almost assumed I was dead."
"That's when I walked into my room unsuspectingly, only to find Jin standing there." Milly added and proceeded to describe the encounter.
