Somehow, without Milly realising, she had fallen asleep sometime into the night.
Nightmares seemed to attack her without relenting; it wasn't unusual for the girl to experience them. However, lately, it hasn't bothered her as much.
Milly knew it was because of Jin, that boy was like her safety blanket. Jin's comforting presence and steadfast support seemed to provide her with a newfound sense of security, gradually easing the grip of her nightly terrors.
But this night was different. It was as if they knew she wasn't lying next to Jin.
A sudden movement made her shoot up, disoriented but wide awake. Her breathing came in quick short bursts, a white light Flashed before her eyes.=❣=
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."
Her head snapped to the boy next to her, who was in the process of standing up.
Hobi was the first one awake and wanted to stretch his legs. The small couch he and Milly were sitting on had moved the girl awake as he stood up.
Milly blinked at him, once, twice, before shakingly taking a breath. It had dawned on her they'd gotten through the night. She had woken up and lived to see the next day.
The real next day.
Hobi was there, the other boys were there and Jin was there.
Without warning, Milly burst out crying, startling the boy in front of her. If she wasn't occupied with her emotions, she might've apologised for her sudden outburst.
Closing her eyes, Milly covered her face with shaking hands.
Then, the smell of orange and cinnamon entered her system and warmth radiated from the two arms that awkwardly wrapped around her.It didn't stop the girl from crying, instead, Milly cried harder. She was overwhelmed with emotions. It was all coming out at once, she was feeling everything at once.
Then, the oranges and cinnamon were replaced with the familiar salty sea and lily flowers. Jin had scooped her up in his arms; Milly had probably woken up the others.
She pressed her face in the crook of his neck, trying to focus on his heartbeat and whispers of comfort. The emotion in Jin's voice didn't go unnoticed by Milly.
He was obviously just as relieved to still be there when he woke up.Jin kissed Milly's hand as she wiped the last stray tears from her face.
When he moved to sit beside her, Milly could see the other boys standing around looking uneasy. She let out a chuckle, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Thank you..." She muttered to Hobi.
He only seemed relieved she'd stopped crying and wasn't blaming him. Not that he could recall doing anything wrong.
"What was that all about?" Yoongi questioned earning a warning glare from Jin.
"Did you have a nightmare? I get them too sometimes..." Jimin asked.
Milly was silent, deciding what to say.
"I was just surprised and grateful that I get to live this day. Because I've been living the same day for who knows how long. And..." She wasn't sure what else to say.
"All the piled-up things just came out at once?" Taehyung took the words right out of her mouth, so Milly simply nodded.
"But... Didn't you say we still had things to solve?" Jungkook spoke up, slightly raising his hand.
"Yeah, I did." Jin responded, "If we don't we'll get Looped regardless of what went right. No idea which of these days we'll have to relive though."
"We're not planning on finding out." Namjoon said, determination audible in his voice.
