After their 'cuddle session' had ended, they decided to eat some food. It was nothing fancy, as Jin just pulled some leftovers from the fridge.
When they were finished he spoke up. "I guess, if we're gonna be thorough, Yoongi is next." He rinsed the plates and set them aside.
Milly mulled over his words. It wasn't that she didn't want to visit Yoongi next, she was just not that keen on the possibility of things going horribly wrong again.
Jin picked up on Milly's hesitation and frowned. "What's wrong?"
Clearing her throat she shook her head. "Nothing, you're right. Yoongi is the next one on the list." Jin wasn't convinced, however.
"No, you're hesitating. Why? Is there something wrong with Yoongi?"
Milly was bewildered at his suggestion. "No, no, it's not like that!" She waved away Jin's assumption.
"Then what?"
It didn't look like he was dropping this issue without an explanation. "I'm just nervous about what could happen. If it's anything like the others..." Milly sighed.
Maybe it was Jin misinterpreting her, or perhaps Jin couldn't hold in the build-up stress anymore. His calm facade dropped and his face darkened.
Milly gulped, warily watching him as if he were a bomb about to explode. "You could just stay here, you know. If things aren't living up to your expectations." Jin sneered in sarcasm.
"Excuse me?"
"No one is making you come along."
This upset Milly greatly. Had Jin already forgotten the previous conversation? The one where he told her she showed she cared?
"Exactly, Jin. I am doing this for you! I get that you're stressed but there is no need to-" She was cut off by Jin almost shouting over her.
"Oh please! You're just tagging along for the ride! Finally got outside, did you? Funny, for a moment I thought you cared about me and my friends..." He crossed his arms across his chest as Milly's jaw dropped.
"Me getting outside has nothing to do with this! Did you miss the part where I saved Namjoon and Jungkook? And if I recall correctly, you were the one who said you couldn't do it without me!" It was a little mean of Milly to use that against him, but anger and hurt make things seem justifiable.
Besides, Jin wasn't playing fair either. "Well, I lied!"Tension clung to the air like glue.
Nothing but Jin's heavy breathing and the swishing of Milly's tail could be heard.
Her heart dropped to her stomach at his words. Milly wanted to believe he didn't mean it. That he just spoke out of anger and hadn't comforted her out of pity. But it still gnawed at her insides.
With wide eyes, Milly stared at Jin who averted his eyes.
He turned his back to her, trying to calm down.
Without a word, he walked into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
It was probably the best for both of them to have some space.
Milly sunk into the armchair, trying to gather her thoughts.
Jin splashed water on his face and stared into the mirror.
They were both hurt. Jin had doubted her intentions and, in turn, Milly doubted his.
The trust they had built together was hanging by a thread.=❣=
Eventually, Jin appeared from the bathroom. He had his jacket on, ready to leave.
Milly rose from her seat. Jin was avoiding her eyes. "I'm going. Don't come if you're not serious about this." His voice was strained.
Quickly, Milly changed into her cat form, chasing after Jin who stormed out of the apartment.
