A FEW YEARS LATER

For the first two years of our relationship, the Sim Clan still existed, and still occasionally indulged in mafia behaviour, but after that, Jake announced he'd stop this, and live under the radar for the remainder of his life.

I appreciated him for that, and although I may have abandoned my morals and job, for him, I like to think that in the end - it was all worth it - sometimes you have to be selfish for your own happiness.

As for my old workplace? I'm sure they learnt their lesson. I haven't heard much from them, they still engaged in taking down crime and gangs, but never interfered again with Jake or his people.

And I suppose that was for the better, for both sides.

Jake and I were about to head out, he never failed to treat me like an absolute princess. Every day just got better and better and better, even when I thought he couldn't do anything more for me, he somehow managed to.

It was the day celebrating the New Year, so me, along with Jake's closest friends, which mind you, also became my closest friends, were all heading out to go and celebrate.

Jake waited for me at the end of the staircase, observing as I head down, my heels clicking after every step.

He always gazed at me like this, no matter what the weather or the time of day. The look in his eyes never changed, I could shave my head bald and he'd probably worship the floor I walked on.

"Damn." He muttered under his breath, eyes glued onto me as I linked my arm with his, heading out to the front.

"I like this suit, it's very cute." I brushed my finger on his blazer, and he just chuckled, giving a kiss on my head as we head to his car, the other guys hopped into theirs and were just waiting for us.

Initially, we celebrated with a meal at first, but then, being the extravagant couple we are, Jake bought a yacht for us all, where we'd just enjoy our time on there for the night.

I walked on, talking to Jay about random things, nothing of relevance, but Jake had disappeared to the captain's room for a brief moment, so I just struck up a conversation with Jay.

"You know what Hikari, I'm glad it was you." Jay spoke as we leant on the railing of the yacht, staring out into the sea that glimmered.

I turned my head to look at him, taking a sip of my drink.

"What do you mean?" I gazed out as the yacht smoothly moved across the water.

"I don't know, in a way, I feel like you changed us." He shrugged, "I couldn't imagine Jake being with anyone else but you. You kind of just, fit perfectly."

I gave a small laugh at his words.

"Even though I was the one who was taking all your men down at the start?" I chuckled, reminding myself of my Agent 003 days, it was a good ride as an agent.

Jay let out a laugh, nodding his head as he clinked his glass with mine.

"That makes it even better, those days were fun. It was a mystery to who you were, and it frustrated Jake so much." Jay exposed, and I just laughed, imagining Jake being frustrated over me.

"Ah, I should've annoyed him a little more, damn, oh well." I smiled, admiring how pretty the sea was at night, I could partially see the speckles of light from the cities at the docks.

"Hold on, I'll be back in a second, wait here." Jay told me, and I just nodded, letting the wind comb through my hair gently.

I spaced out, leaning on the railing as the wind soothed me.
