Cold white flakes are falling outside-it's snowing.
In a daze, I gaze at the city as far as I can see. The landscape is becoming increasingly ethereal white on the horizon.
"Getting too cozy, are we?" came a cheeky voice from behind me. A woman with fiery crimson hair, pale white skin, and ruby eyes that perfectly matched her hair, basically a younger version of her mother, except much more mischievous and a walking disaster, stood there with stacks of papers in hand.
"You're here." I immediately frowned at her as she delivered almost a ruler-thick stack of paperwork for me.
"Do me a favor and hide your irritated face," she said, shrugging. "Isn't it horrible to make me do menial tasks like this?"
"Isn't it dumb for an imperial princess, heir to an empire, to keep pestering me in her neighbor's land?" I parroted in retort.
"I'm your fiancée, though," she said provocatively.
"Ex," I emphasized, "and Mila, you're a landmine. I'm not going to hook up with you." I shook my head in response.
Hearing it, she sighed. "Your vassals literally asked me to accompany you because you seem to have no plans to get an heir or be in a relationship." She held her head as she sat in a position that dangerously showed her thighs.
"They're not vassals but government officials, and I am no king. I can be replaced once an election happens..." I stopped abruptly in my thoughts.
"Can you?" she asked straight to my face, with a grin as if mocking me.
"I can't..." It's annoying. "If I take my eyes off for a brief week, it results in some random senator bringing a submachine gun last year and killing 20 other people in the Federation Senate." My head spun and hurt from their stupid and moronic actions.
"See?" She crossed her legs to the other side, trying to flash something at me, which I averted my eyes from. It was more of a gesture that she was having fun.
"I'm trying to make them normal, so a new president can come and replace me peacefully."
"I haven't heard any," she paused and mischievously put her hand to her mouth before broadly smiling. "Progress."
"There is progress," I responded.
"You're spectacularly failing to leave your position because you have no opposition. How can my mom be like you?" She looked as if she was wondering. "My mom had to crush dissent and rebellions left and right, conduct massive purges, and wipe out several lands to guarantee no fools could continue to resist and to set an example for everyone who opposed her rule."
"That's extreme," I said to her honestly. "Like mother, like daughter, hu-hot?!" I stopped as a ball the size of a match flame appeared on my cheek. "You crazy brat!" I shouted at her as she cast a spell on me. "I said don't casually use magic! Did you forget how hard it was for me to cover your freaking mess a few years ago?" She immediately averted her face.
"I'm getting assaulted, you see?" She said, clearly having fun. "So I burned him as charcoal."
"My head is not braining from your logic." I facepalmed at her response. Two years ago, she was dispatched to the Federal Western Territories. Some country bumpkin federal noble's son attempted to assault her, and she burned him to a crisp beyond recognition. As I was her fiancé at that moment, and because that moronic bumpkin noble's son also insulted me, he and his family disappeared from the federal noble registry and literally vanished from the world.
"Aren't you happy?" she said nonchalantly. "Several leeches and ungrateful dogs were wiped out by my actions. Those ingrates weren't worth feeding." As she spoke, I couldn't deny that the so-called wannabe gods in the Western Territories were not using their brains. They didn't even recognize their ruler's face. It was also normal for their family, especially the sons, to take any woman they set their eyes on. Unfortunately for them, they stepped on a landmine called Mila, my fiancée, and slandered my name. A triple offense that could unanimously make my warmongering, war hawks, conflicting, and fractured senators and representatives agree on aiming an 'absolute deletion beam' towards their entire family.
