: Waiting For Another Betrayal :
Snake looked down at his leg. None of his fur had grown back in the half a moon since he had been injured. He still couldn't stand on it. Snake knew he was going to have to live without use of his leg.
Which means I'll get kicked out of here even quicker. Snake told himself.
He stood up and limped out of his new den.
Sunlight was beginning to break through the forest canopy as the sun rose.
And if my life couldn't get any worse, now I have to see Clear Sky every single day. I hate everything about SkyClan. Well except the kits, they're fine. It doesn't matter if they're Clear Sky's kits. Cats aren't defined by their parentage.
Snake shook his head. He had gotten distracted again. It was something that happened when he was in a bad mood.
Snake limped over to where patrols were being sorted.
I hate patrolling. It's not productive. Hunting is the only thing that matters, and you can remark the borders while you hunt. Snake whisked his tail.
"And Snake you can join the hunting patrol."
Snake looked up. Ok yay. I get to hunt. But I also am going to end up failing miserably. Sure I might catch something. But I also am going to have to adjust to only having three legs. It was almost like Clear Sky had done it on purpose, actually judging by the smug look on his face he had done it on purpose.
Snake slightly nodded, not even trying to hide his irritation.
"Do you have a problem with that?" Clear Sky asked with his usual fox-hearted tone.
Snake glared at him. "I nodded. As in I acknowledged what you said. So no I don't have a problem." quipped back.
Clear Sky glared back at him.Snake limped at the back of the patrol, partly because Clear Sky was leading it and partly because he just couldn't walk as fast as the rest of them.
How long until I'm thrown out for being useless? Probably a few hours. Snake thought.
He was distracted as he heard the chirp of a thrush.
Clear Sky looked at the thrush. The light grey tom crouched down and began stalking forward. He kept his gaze intently fixed on the thrush. Clear Sky bunched his hind quarters and prepared to leap. The light grey tom then gracefully leaped, grabbing the thrush in his jaws as he landed on the tree branch. He snapped its neck then hopped back to the ground.
Snake suddenly realized he had been staring at Clear Sky. He looked away. Just because you hate him doesn't mean you have to stare at him. Snake scolded himself.
Snake spotted a vole. Time to embarrass myself. He thought.
Snake began to unsteadily stalk towards the vole. He suddenly stumbled and face planted.
He struggled up, he could hear the other patrol members snickering.
Snake's fur bushed out with embarrassment.
"Will you two shut up? Nothing funny happened." Clear Sky growled.
Shut up! Stop acting like you aren't laughing too! Snake wanted to yowl. He would prefer if if Clear Sky would stop acting like he wasn't a fox-heart.
Snake stood up. "I'd like to see any of you hunt with only three legs!" he snapped.
Leaf rolled his eyes. "Well we have four legs. So no."
Just because you're upset about your mate dying doesn't mean you get to act like such a rat! Snake could feel angry tears in his eyes. He didn't understand why he was so angry and embarrassed but he was.
Snake turned away, he couldn't meet any cat's gaze.
Now I'm definitely going to get exiled soon. He thought miserably. An: The most unrealistic thing here is Clear Sky not instantly yeeting Snake out of SkyClan.
