Fearless

This dress is too tight. Too tight to be comfortable. I feel like I am back at the last ball, having a hard time breathing, except this time Kai is not here to loosen my gown like he did back at the ball.

"Ms. Gray, The Enforcer wanted to go in and give you something. . ." The maid's voice rang out.

My mouth gaped open, but not words spilled out, none too brave to roll off my tongue.

I simply nodded as the maid stepped back and let The Enforcer in. Nothing has changed, he is still as composed as he was before. But the crack is still visible. It's always visible.

"Gray. . ." Kai's Adam's apple bobbed up and down as his gaze wandered, then quickly went back to me.

"Out. All of you. Enforcer's order. You all can go back once I allow you," Kai's eyes looks cold as ice, looking around before continuing, "don't speak a word to the king."

The maids scurried off, leaving me and Kai in the room, alone. With him. No, I'm not dreaming. He takes a step towards me, his eyes eyeing me hungrily.

His hand reaches for the back of my dress. "Don't-" before I could finish, the tight clasps of my dress loosened. Leaving me to breathe comfortably.

"I wanted to return this to you." Kai said, his voice controlled and professional.

He pulled the dagger from his pocket, pushing it on my palm. "Go on, Silver Savior."

Kai brushed a strand of hair behind my ears, his eyes filled with longing and something akin to sorrow.

Before I could stop myself, I was already pulling at his clothes, pulling him towards me.

My lips crashed to his, pulling him into a deep kiss. Probably our last one. Before I get married, I wanna taste this mistake on my tongue. I breathed him in, just like he did with me in the sewer.

Kai's hand slid to my waist, holding me close while my hands rest on his chest. Here, no one can see us. Just two people, loving each other in the dark.

But I open my eyes, pulling away. The palace going back into place. I pushed Kai away, shocked.

"W-what did we just. . ." My weak voice mumbled while Kai looked regretful but his eyes are filled with affection.

"Azer. . ." I weakly muttered.
"Gray. . ." Kai's voice softened.

"I love you, Paedyn Gray. I always have and always will. But you are gonna be my queen. Therefore, I should go." Kai said, the words rolling off his tongue softly, turning bittersweet as it reached the end.

I don't want to tell him the three words I am aching to do so. Every people I loved and told those three words left me. My father. Adena.

I opened my palm and attached the silver dagger on the slit of my dress as the maids rushed back in.

The rest of the wedding preparation has been stressing for everyone, especially Kitt. I am worried for him but I am also worried for his brother. Kitt might be stressed out, but Kai. . . He might get depressed.
