The sun shone down on my face. I feel like I am on fire, perhaps it is because Paedyn lies beside me or because the sun is shining directly down on me.

I woke Paedyn up. "Hey, you better get going before we get caught. After all, the queen can't get caught with her enforcer." I said, making her grumble and give me her middle finger.

I tried a couple more times before she actually fully woke, glaring at me.

Paedyn got up, her hair tangled with the flower crown still miraculously intact.

"You should go now." I mumble as she yawned.

"Not even a good morning?" Oh, so now we're back to teasing.

"Nope, this morning is anything but good." I spat back, making her roll her eyes.

Paedyn eventually got up, fixing her hair and taking the flower crown with her.

I walked to the horse shed, tending to my horse. I know Kitt is seriously worried about her being gone for the night, but she can handle it.

"Where's my horse?" I asked the keeper, my voice back to enforcer mode.

"It is here, your highness." The keeper bowed while I just nodded.

I walked over to my horse, stroking his soft fur. My horse, a tall black horse with muscles fit for a long journey neighed.

"Yes, Jaden. I'll be back." I nuzzled my horse's muzzle. I take a weekly visit to see him.

A guy then came rushing in, looking pale and worried. "Your Highness! His Majesty requests your presence! There's a sudden emergency at the border of Ilya!"

I snapped my head towards the servant's direction. "I will be there."

I sternly said then walked out, entrusting my horse with the keeper.

I rushed in Kitt's study. "What the hell is wrong? What's the emergency?" I scrambled to get the words out.

"Bandits! Fucking bandits!" Kitt shouted, pulling at his blonde strands while pacing back and forth acroos the room.

My eyes narrowed at the words. "Bandits? What the hell do you mean?" My voice turned into a low growl.

"The border is being attacked!" Kitt exclaimed.

"The imperials are elites! Why can't they fight them off?" I asked. Kitt just seemed to be more frustrated with that.

"That's it! Their powers somehow don't work there!" Kitt shouted frustratedly.

"I think our powers grow weak in the Scorches, or near it." I growled.

"Fight. You need to fight." Kitt said, his voice proving he's not gonna take a no for an answer.

I nodded, kneeling. "Yes, my king." This man in front of me is no longer my brother but an emotionless and stoic king.

                              ~~~
I mounted on my horse, my sword heavy on my back. Before we departed, my eyes looked everywhere for a glint of those silver strands and ocean blue eyes, but no matter how much I look, she seems to avoid my sight.
"Your highness, shall we go?" The imperial beside me asked. I just nodded blalanty.
It was a battlefield in there, imperials fell from the arrows they couldn't avoid.
The bandits are used, they are practiced, they don't miss. But so do I.
We split up, and fought. The bandits seem never endless, most of us's powers don't work here though.
We rested for the night, staying in our tent, we are gonna fight again, at dawn or after it.
It's weird how the bandits are endless, they may be a lot, but not this lot.
Something is wrong, I know there is, a group of bandits from other kingdoms cannot be this many.
There can be a hundred or two, not a thousand and more. There are two things to figure out now.
One: How I will come out alive, and how my team will survive these bandits.
Two: Why are there so many of these bandits, who is helping them,care they even bandits?
                                ~~~

I lie on my back, the stars above glittering and dancing. I wonder if she is also looking at the same stars I star up.

No, I can't. I shouldn't. She is my brother's wife, but is he even my brother anymore.

"Hey, what are you doing behind camp and just laying there?" A warm voice echoed from behind me.

I know that voice by heart, by mind and by spirit. He may not be my brother by blood but he is more of a brother than my real one.

"Jax, what are you doing here?" I voiced out, Jax laid down beside me, propping himself up with one arm.

"Just checking if my brother is still alive. Cause why are you laying here when there's a 50/50 chance a bandit puts an arrow in your skull?" Jax sighed, tapping his fingers on his head.

"I don't know, this somehow helps me think more clearly about everything happening right now, half of which you cannot know." I smiled, Jax was sent with our soldiers and me to help with the war.

"Well, we should head back now, before a bandit actually puts an arrow in your head." Jax said, standing up and reaching his hand out to help me stand.

Of the time I was gone, this boy had turned into a young man. But I can never be more proud.

Jax and I resigned to our chambers, sleep overthrowing paranoia and questions from everything that is happening, to me, to us and to Ilya.
