"Where are you going?" A deep voice echoes behind me. Not Kitt, it isn't sweet, it's rough and dark.

I have almost gotten to the ship, but now, someone caught me, someone I am very familiar to. Kai.

"You know you can't come with me, right?" Kai said, pulling me to a corner as people rushed past us.

"Exactly, I can't come. So I will." I stubbornly argued back. Kai sighed, obviously already exhausted, and me just adding to his mountain of problems.

"You need to go back to the palace." Kai said, gently grasping my arm, tugging on it, but my stubborn nature never listens to him.

"No, I will not. Make up an excuse, I want to escape. Just a few days. . . I feel caged." I pulled my arm away, looking at him with the same stubborn fierceness in my eyes.

A crack appeared in Kai's composed posture, but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared, "fine." He reluctantly growled, giving in.

I grin cheekily while he rolls his eyes, walking away. I stayed in the corner while he talks to Kitt.

When he came back, he took me with him to the ship, ignoring the curious stares of the imperials.

The ship sailed after all the armors and weapons were brought inside. Kai is managing his men while I am here, in my small cabin, sitting on a bed, a candle lit in front of me.

"Ms. Gray, the enforcer requests your presence." An imperial said, knocking on my door.

I sigh, opening the door. The imperial led me to Kai. He was standing outside, looking out at the endless sea.

"You need to stay in your cabin after 8:00 pm. It's your husband's request." I roll my eyes at his words.

"You are not the boss of me." I grumbled, annoyed. Kai doesn't budge and just sends me back to my cabin.

"Up! You've been sleeping too long!" Kai growled, tapping his foot on the wooden floor. I just roll on my stomach and give him the middle finger.

He doesn't laugh this time. He dragged me to the floor, my butt hitting the wood. My mind woke fully at the sting.

"Let me sleep!" I say, very annoyed with Kai.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."

"Get up before I drag your ass back t Ilya. You need to eat breakfast. Or does my dear queen want me to bring her breakfast in bed?" Kai crossed his arms over his chest.

"Actually. I would like that." I grin at him. He rolls his eyes and sigh. "I am not yours to order around here." Kai said.

"Here, you are just Paedyn. And I am Kai. No one else. Not the enforcer, not the queen. I am not yours to order around. Get up." He orders strictly.

Maybe if it were back in the sanctuary of souls. It would've meant a different meaning. But now, he is the knife that will cut me and make me bleed. Not the one that will protect me from any danger there is.

I grumpily got up and ate food, my stomach immediately churns. Sea sickness. I hate this. Kai sees me but does nothing. What a gentleman.

I ran to the edge and threw up on the ocean water. All of what I ate immediately washed out in a second. Great.

I'm already hating this, but this is better than being caged in Ilya. It is not my home now, rather a jail to keep me in. But here, I am free. No limits, except for jumping to the ocean beneath and hurting or killing anyone. Or being with Kai.
