It has been 2 days since he went to the borders to defend Ilya. I am miserable but my emotions hide beneath the mask I throw on whenever I see someone.
I silently sat on my bed, staring out into the moonlit sky that witnessed all of our moments.
"My love, why aren't you resting yet?" Kitt's voice rang out as I turned my head to him.
"Can't. I'm worried about our imperials." I half-lied, I'm not worried about everyone, just the enforcer.
"Oh, dear. They'll be fine, they can do it. C'mere." Kitt opened his arms, urging me to come in.
I want nothing more than to crawl in Kai's arms, but I have no choice, Kitt's gaze says it all.
I crawled in his arms as he enveloped me in his warmth, I can feel him grinning, feeling victorious. But no, even as I hug him, I think of no one else but his brother. I can't feel guilty, I know I should feel guilty, but something inside me just keeps telling me-Kitt isn't the one. I know who is, but even if I tell myself that, I need to force myself to love Kitt. We are married after all. A wife should love her husband, not resent him for forbidding a love that can never happen.
Kitt's head is on top of mine, his arms are wrapped around me, his hands spread on my stomach.
"Everything will be okay, my love."
I nodded silently as he kissed the top of my head. Kitt is sweet and fairly a great husband, but he is not him.
As usual, Kitt fell asleep before me, his arms loosening around me, but kept their hold.
I slowly and carefully untangled myself from his embrace and walked to the terrace, just staring at the stars above.
That one was Sirius, my favorite. Beside it stars formed a constellation, Leo.
It's fun to just stare up at the stars hovering above me. The moon sitting next to it.
I continued just studying the sky above me before resigning back to my-our chamber.

"Your Majesty, his Majesty requests your presence in the throne room." A servant said, bowing politely.
I nodded and tipped her off before walking to the throne room.
I looked up to see the dais above, Kitt sitting on the throne, looking stoic and emotionless.
"Paedyn, you are my wife. So therefore, I will leave the kingdom in your hands, things on the borders are going south. I need to get involved and find out what those bandits want." Kitt said.
"Your Majesty, I understand. But please, let me go instead. I have more knowledge in wars than ruling. Please." I pleaded, Kitt didn't even blink.
"No. I am the King, I should go, they are my people, after all." Kitt said, making me plead more.
After a while Kitt sighed. "You are very stubborn, aren't you?" I nodded.
"Fine, you may go. But you will need to report back to me, and you will not fight." Kitt said, sighing in defeat.
I know it's horrible to lie to a king, especially since he is my husband. But I want—need to fight.
I walked out, feeling victorious. Some people are gonna protect me whilst I go to Kai and his soldiers' post tomorrow.
