Jeanette was panicking about her report when she arrived at school. Simon appeared waiting by her locker, waving at her with a huge grin on his face. It eased Jeanette a little, and she responded back with a shy wave.
"Oh, I'm so nervous about later." She sighed, opening her locker.
"You'll do fine, Jeanette. I believe in you." Simon assured her.
"Thanks Simon." Jeanette said in a bored tone, still doubting herself.
This time, she found a post-it note stuck to the door of her locker.
"Another letter, well it's been a while." She giggled.
"It's only been two days Jeanette." Simon reminded her.
"I can't help it, he brightens my days." Jeanette smiled sheepishly.
Hey Jeanette,
Sorry I didn't meet you on your birthday! I was too scared :(
Heard from a friend that you're reading your report in class though. Good luck for that! I believe in you!:)~Ammon
"Well, at least he apologised. I wonder who that friend of his is." Jeanette showed Simon the note.
"Hm." Simon responded with not much interest upon reading it.
"Come to think of it, he may be a human boy the whole time. For a whole day, I thought he was a chipmunk because of you." Jeanette thought aloud and informed Simon.
Simon's cheeks reddened and he chuckled nervously upon remembering that night. The night he confirmed to have a real crush on her.
He had to munk up and tell her about his secret, before Mr Romance, also known as Alvin, stole her officially and broke her heart afterwards. It was not that he was accusing Alvin's capability of keeping a stolen heart, it was merely factual, as Alvin clearly was not mature enough to truly like a girl and take care of her properly. He wanted to be the one to carry out that responsible duty for Jeanette.
"Jeanette, can I tell you something?" Simon questioned.
"Sure, Simon. What is it?" Jeanette retrieved one of her books and closed her locker, smiling naturally and innocently at Simon.
"W-well... I-I-" Before he could even pour it all out, Alvin barged into their conversation.
"Jeanette! It's our turns today to present our reports. You ready?" Alvin nudged Jeanette playfully.
"Not really." Jeanette shook her head, her smile dropping.
"You'll do great! How's this? I'll go first. You can go after I present mine. I'm telling you, I didn't even do mine properly. I'll screw up, but I'm proud of that." Alvin told Jeanette.
"Really? Thanks Alvin." Jeanette's smile reformed on her face.
"Come on, let's get a move on!" Alvin urged, walking to their next class.
"Simon? You were saying?" Jeanette asked, waiting for Simon to walk with her.
"Oh, um... I forgot." Simon dropped the topic due to his fear conquering him.
In class, Alvin walked past the chipettes, turning to them. Brittany gave him the stink eye. Alvin merely smirked in her direction. Before Brittany could tell him off to wipe the smirk off of his face, Alvin spoke.
"Watch and learn, Jeanette." He walked past, and Brittany realised he had been looking at Jeanette instead of her.
She turned to Jeanette in confusion, seeing Jeanette's cheeks redden slightly as Jeanette herself nodded her head. Brittany raised an eyebrow, feeling a slight pang of jealousy that Alvin gave Jeanette attention. She folded her arms and overlapped a leg over the other, pouting with an indifferent look.
