Alvin fished out his shades, placing them over his eyes. Simon rolled his eyes at his brother.
"What is courage? Well," Alvin acted smooth like an assassin, "it comes with a tint of awesomeness. Like, have you ever seen Mission Impossible? Or Fast And Furious?" He asked rhetorically.
"Particularly, I am amazed with this super cool secret agent, who's smooth like a ninja." Alvin threw a wink at one of Brittany's human friends, being the charming boy he was.
Brittany rolled her eyes, scoffing in disgust. Jeanette merely observed Alvin's well-memorised script. She could not even take the time to memorise her own. She would have to refer every five seconds.
"He's so smooth, you can't even sense it when he's... Placed a flower in your pocket." He lifted his shades and winked at Jeanette, causing Brittany to turn in shock.
"Brittany!" Jeanette shrieked as Brittany examined Jeanette's jean pocket, pulling out a plastic hibiscus flower.
"Who is this person Alvin?" Ms Smith questioned in a bored tone.
"I can't tell you. It's a secret." Alvin told her off and continued.
This continued on and on for an eternity to poor Miss Smith that she instructed Alvin to return to his seat, already planning to give him an F grade.
"Who's next?" Ms Smith demanded in frustration and impatience.
"M-me." Jeanette shyly raised her hand.
She slowly walked up to the front and looked at her best friend Simon. Simon gave her a smile with a thumbs up, to make her feel better.
"C-courage comes in many different farms- um I mean forms-" she shook as she read out her script.
She heard laughter come from the class - the bad kind of laughter. Not one that you should be happy about. Not the type that makes you feel good, but makes you feel humiliated. She felt like crawling into a hole and hiding her face, but there was no way out. She was stuck.
By the end of the lesson, she was only halfway through her script. Everyone packed their bags, leaving the class. Even Miss Smith did not bother to listen any longer. Jeanette dropped her papers clumsily, whining silently to herself.
"Okay, not bad, not bad." Simon rushed forward and tried to comfort her, helping her pick up some of her papers.
"You actually spoke real words this time." He complimented her, comparing to previous times where she would just stand and stare at the audience.
"Oh, I'm so embarrassed." She pulled an uneasy face as she confided in Simon.
"Jeanette, do you know what people's number one fear is?" Simon questioned.
"Um..." Jeanette pondered, "Oh, oh, getting their foot stuck under a ferris wheel?" She guessed gullibly.
"W-wha-what? N-no! W-why did you even- uh, never mind." Simon gave up trying to register why she said that.
"Their number one fear is public speaking." Simon revealed.
While Simon was advising Jeanette, Brittany stood with her friends at the door.
"Okay, what's wrong with your sister?" One of them asked.
"Oh, well, um..." Brittany panicked on the inside.
If they get weirded out by her, they won't come to my party! She thought to herself.
"She uh, she falls out of trees many times so, her brain is all messed up, and yeah, it's just a sad thing." Brittany half-lied about her sister.
"Oh, okay." Her friend was puzzled by her answered.
"Oh, yeah, uh, poor thing." Her other friend commented, and both of them walked away.
Brittany looked at Jeanette guiltily before catching up with her friends.
"It's really normal, Jeanette. You don't have to be embarrassed." Simon assured her with a smile.
"I can't help but feel that way, Simon." Jeanette sighed, walking out of class.
"Jeanette, I think you did great." Simon tried to cheer her up.
"It's no use lying to make me feel better, Simon. I don't think I did horribly." Jeanette turned to Simon with no smile on her face.
"Well, that's goo-" Simon began but Jeanette was not finished.
"I know I did horribly." She ended and walked away from Simon, leaving him there to go to his next class.
A/N: Poor Jeanette 🙁
I think it's a draw for both ships this chapter? Or maybe more to Alvinette, because Simonette moment was quite saddening :(Vote! Comment! Stay awesome!
