Alvin VS Simon (Simonette/Alvinette)

Chapter 22

Simon placed his paw on Jeanette's shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.

"We'll head off to class first, alright?" Eleanor excused herself with Theodore.

"Okay, see you there." Simon spoke on behalf of Alvin and Jeanette.

"Not cut out for this? Jeanette, that was amazing!" Alvin encouraged Jeanette.

"Alvin, she almost got in trouble with a school bully." Simon spoke rationally, rubbing circles on Jeanette's back to comfort her further.

"Well, it was a pretty dumb thing for you to mess with his skateboard. I would have charged you too if you got scratches on mine." Alvin thought aloud.

"What?" Jeanette asked, her self-confidence dropping.

"Oh, my, Alvin's such a kidder." Simon faked a laugh.

"What Alvin means, Jeanette, is that you can continue trying to get over your shyness, but, just don't involve others' properties anymore, okay?" Simon explained to Jeanette.

"Okay." Jeanette nodded her head.

Later on that day, Jeanette entered the cafeteria during lunch. She took the seat beside Brittany in Brittany's clique, who were secretly doubtful about sitting with her.

"So, Jeanette... Any updates?" Brittany asked, just to strike a normal conversation.

"Oh, I wanted to perform for all of you today! I've been practising this dance routine last night in our room." Jeanette announced, getting up onto the table.

"Uh, Jeanette?" Brittany questioned, growing embarrassed.

Jeanette began humming a tune and tapped danced on her feet, igniting an awkward silence throughout the canteen as everyone stared at her.

"Jeanette..." Brittany sighed in distress, looking around.

"Oh, I just remembered that I haven't done my French homework, so I'm gonna go now." Annie excused herself.

"Oh, I need to go to the bathroom."

"I've got to submit something by lunch!"

Everyone threw excuses and left the canteen, as Jeanette twirled around. Brittany was panicking. Her party was in three days and her sister was disrupting her image. For sure if everyone noticed Jeanette's weird acting, they'd think Brittany had a weird sister and would not show up, hence Alvin proving Brittany was the lamest being on Earth.

"Where'd everyone go?" Jeanette pondered aloud, seeing the whole cafeteria spotlessly clean.

"I guess you're so awesome that they couldn't take it." Alvin spoke beside her, causing her to jump slightly.

"Hey, I didn't see Simon at all. Where could he be?" She wondered aloud.

"Probably at the library or something, I don't know. I'm gonna go chat with Britt." Alvin excused himself, hopping off the table.

"By the way, great job Jeanette." He gave her a thumbs up before he left the cafeteria.

When he found Brittany by her locker, Brittany seemed to be in distress.

"What's wrong Britt?" Alvin asked in concern.

"Alvin! Jeanette's acting so weird!" Brittany cried, pulling him over.

"I don't know what's the matter with her!" She complained, while Alvin stood against the locker.

"She was tap dancing on the table, and then-" Brittany began but got interrupted by a group of friends with her best friend talking.

"Uh, has anyone noticed how weird Jeanette is being lately?"

"What a loser, right?"

"Sh! Her brain is like all jumbled from falling out of trees!" Annie told them.

This angered Alvin. How could they think such a thing about Jeanette?

"What? Who told you that?!" He demanded to know.

"Alvin, I'm begging you." Brittany pushed Alvin away to a private corner.

"It's just a little lie." She confessed.

"Why would you say that?" Alvin asked in shock.

"Ugh, Alvin, no one's gonna come to my party if they think I have a weird sister!" She freaked out.

"Alright Brittany, I won't expose your lie," Alvin promised, "on two conditions."

"One, you leave Jeanette alone. Let her do whatever she's doing, and two," he chuckled, "you're working for me."

With that, he walked away from Brittany.

I don't know how long I can take this, Brittany thought to herself in distress.

A/N: can we just take a moment to appreciate that Simon stood up to Derek first for Jeanette before Alvin did, despite being the one that Derek bullies more compared to Alvin? :>
It's not part of the episode but I just thought it was extremely lacking in Simonette lately 😂
