"Go ahead." He said bravely, knowing that Simon deserved this after weeks of being crushed from seeing them both together all the time.

Jeanette smiled in appreciation, and gave Alvin a lingering kiss on the cheek. She whispered a thank you before racing to the open field, eager to find her best friend. With that, Alvin smiled in appreciation and walked back to the party room to find Brittany.

Meanwhile, Simon sat on the bench, awaiting Jeanette's presence. He really hoped Jeanette would have figured out by then. He sat patiently, hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. He was sure with what he was doing, and he was ready to face the rejection from the girl he truly admired most. He wanted to tell her how he truly felt in person, but was afraid that he might screw up.

"Simon!"

Simon's ears perked up and he looked behind to see his best friend running to him in small one-inch high heels.

"Jeanette?" He smiled, hopping off the bench.

"Simon- whoa!" Jeanette tripped over a pebble, falling into Simon's arms.

Way to make an entrance, Simon thought humorously to himself, smiling down on Jeanette.

"H-hey, Jeanette." Simon sheepishly greeted.

"Simon, you're the sweetest boy ever! How could you think that I would ever ignore you, or be mad at you, or never look at you the same way ever again?" Jeanette hugged him.

"I-I didn't think I was what you had in mind." Simon revealed, when she let go of him.

"Is that why you kept hiding yourself the whole time? And insisting for me not to look for you?" Jeanette asked, her eyes still on stalks.

"Yeah... You seemed really determined to find me... And I was afraid of your reaction. I was never, well... Good at saying how I feel, about you." Simon confessed.

"Back in freshman year, I sent you the first letter. I think that was two years ago." Simon recalled aloud.

"Two years ago?" Jeanette raised her eyebrows, overwhelmed by the fact that her very own best friend has liked her for so long.

"Y-yeah. But... You never spoke of it. I thought you knew it was me, because..." Simon trailed off.

"You were the only the one I trusted to know my passcode to my locker back then.." Jeanette gasped in realisation.

Brittany was right along! She thought to herself.

"Yeah, and, when weeks went by without a word about it, I thought you were being too nice to tell me that you weren't interested... Until you-" Simon added on but was cut off.

"Until I saw it, and told you about it. That would explain why the first one was so crumpled!" Jeanette exclaimed upon realising it all.

"It all makes sense. You're the one..." Jeanette stared at Simon, whose blue eyes looked back into her violet ones.

"Oh Simon... I should have known all along. I'm sorry." Jeanette apologised, pulling him into a hug again.

"I don't blame you." Simon hugged her back, feeling contented.

"So... About that book." Simon chuckled nervously when they let go of each other.
