"We are alive, and now, we are free!" Marcus exclaimed victoriously. All of the androids in the crowd cheered.

Once the crowd calmed down and started to disperse, Marcus walked up to me. I smiled slightly. "We're free."

Marcus placed a hand on my shoulder. "Yes, we are. We're going back to the church to celebrate, it would be great if you joined us."

I looked at the ground. "Thanks, but..." I looked back up at him. "There's someone I need to go see."

Marcus held his arms out. "Alright. Suit yourself. You're always welcome with us, Connor."

I gave him a nod. "Thank you." I made my way off of the stage and slipped away without being noticed by anyone in the crowd.

I walked to the food stand known as "Chicken Feed," and I found exactly who I was looking for. Hank stood there with his arms crossed over his chest. I stepped closer and stopped as he turned around. He gave me a smile, and of course, I gave him one back. He came up to me and pulled me into a hug, and without hesitation, I hugged back. "It's good to see you again, Connor."

"It's good to see you, too, Hank." We pulled out of our hug.

"So what now?"

I furrowed my eyebrows and averted my gaze. "I don't know. I guess we will see."

"Right. Well, for the time being, you can stay at my place, if you want."

I gave him a small smile. "I would like that very much, Lieutenant."

I was sitting on the couch, staring at the floor in thought with my hands in my lap and Sumo laying on my feet.

Hank looked over at me after taking a swig of his beer. "What's the matter, Connor? You've been real quiet lately."

I looked over at him. "It's nothing." My LED flashed yellow.

"Come on. Talk to me, son. What on your mind?"

I refused to meet his gaze. "What am I going to do? I was programmed to hunt deviants, but now... What is my purpose now?"

"Your purpose is to live your best life. You can do whatever the fuck you want now. No one is controlling you anymore."

"I know, but I'm at a loss."

He leaned towards me. "Tell you what, no one can solve a case quite like you, Connor. It would be one hell of a loss to lose you as my partner."

I looked back up at him. "Do you think they would still allow me to work with you?"

He nodded. "I can convince Fowler."

I smiled. "Thank you."

Hank brought me into the station the next day and managed to convince the captain to let me continue to work with him. We were assigned to all android cases.

~Time skip another week~

I looked through some case files. There was nothing android related in the list. I finally gave up after several minutes. I looked at Hank who was obviously just as bored as I was.

I sighed and took my new coin out of my jacket pocket. Hank never gave the other one back. I transferred it in between each of my fingers, one of my quieter tricks. I felt a set of eyes on me and looked over to see Hank glaring at me. I sent the coin to my other hand and caught it in between my middle and index finger then put it back in my pocket. Hank shook his head and looked back at his computer.

I glanced up and saw a man I had never seen in the station near the entrance. He was speaking with another officer. The officer pointed at me, and the man looked over and gave her, what looked to be, a thank you. He began walking towards my desk. My LED turned yellow.

I looked over at Hank; he seemed to be in his own thoughts.

"Excuse me."

I looked back up and saw the man. He seemed to be in his late 30s, had slicked back black hair, vibrant green eyes, and facial stubble. I didn't bother scanning him. "Hello, Connor. My name is Lucas Torres."

"Can I help you with something, Mr. Torres?"

"I'm a representative from CyberLife. They asked me to come find you and bring you back. Luckily, you haven't left the department."

I saw Hank glance up in the corner of my eye. "Bring me back?" My LED went red.

"Yeah. CyberLife thinks it would be too dangerous to have your particular model on the streets."

I widened my eyes, slightly offended. Hank spoke up before I could defend myself. "Listen, Connor's a free man now. CyberLife can't just force him to go back and shut him down. That's murder."

"I'm just following orders."

Hank stood up with his hands flat against his desk, leaning towards Torres. "Well, go back to your boss, and tell him that Lieutenant Hank Anderson had a message for him. Piss off, and leave my friend the fuck alone."

Torres held his hands up towards Hank. "You know what, fine. But this will become a bigger issue for the both of you." He turned on his heel and walked out of the building.

My LED went blue, again. "Thank you, Hank."

He fell into his chair and growled. "They can't just fuckin' take you away like that. Not if I have anything to say about it."
