Hank walked up to the receptionist. She was an ST300 android with blonde hair and an LED. She smiled and glanced at us both. "Hello gentlemen, what can I do for you two today?"

Hank answered, showing her his badge. "We are here about a case involving an android who works here. He's a... uh." Hank looked to me for help.

"A PJ500 who goes by the name Rhys."

She smiled and looked down at her computer. "Allow me to check our database."She looked at the computer for a few seconds. "Ah, Here. Rhys. PJ500. City Events and Festivities Department." She looked up at us. "That would be on floor 43."

We thanked her and walked past the front desk into one of the elevators. I reached in my pocket for my coin. "Don't even think about it, Connor."

I looked over at Hank as I put the coin back. "I'm starting to think that you're just jealous."

He glared at me. "I am not. Even if I were, I'd never admit it, especially to you."

"I could always try to teach you some of them, Lieutenant."

He scoffed. "Don't make me laugh. I could do those fuckin' tricks just as well as you can."

I grabbed the coin and held it out to him on my palm. "Be my guest."

He smacked my hand away. "Not right now. We're almost there."

I couldn't help but chuckle as I pocketed the coin. We were only on the 19th floor.

We stepped out of the elevator once it opened to floor 43. Hank stopped an employee who was passing by and began talking to him. "Excuse us, you had an android working here, right? He goes by the name of Rhys."

He nodded and answered. "Yeah, but we haven't seen him in a few days. No notice about taking a..."

I zoned out of the conversation as I looked around the room. My gazed locked onto a woman sitting at her desk, typing something on her computer. It was the same woman from the photo. She was wearing a red plaid button-up shirt and a distressed denim jacket over a white tank top, skinny dark blue jeans, brown lace-up boots, and a simple brown faux leather and rose gold watch on her right arm.

My thoughts were interrupted by a hand being waved in front of my face. I blinked a few times and turned around to see Hank, his brows furrowed. The employee had walked away. He glanced over my shoulder. "What were you so captivated by over there, Connor?"

I briefly glanced behind me again, then back at Hank. "Nothing, Lieutenant."

He narrowed his eyes at me. "Sure... Were you even listening?"

I broke eye contact and remained quiet.

He crossed his arms. "Of course not. The man said that we should talk to the deviant's partner, her name is (y/n) (l/n)." He pointed behind me. It was her.

"Oh... We should do that then." My LED turned Yellow.

Hank raised an eyebrow at me. "Is that who you were looking at?" I averted my gaze. He chuckled. "Wow, Connor. She is quite the looker. Hell, if I were still in my 20s, I'd probably go for her."

I got a bit annoyed with his teasing. "Lieutenant!"

"Hey, I said, 'if.' Calm down. Don't worry, I won't tell her that you were drooling over her."

"I was not."

"Yeah, whatever, Connor." He walked passed me to go to her.

I widened my eyes worriedly and quickly walked up next to him.

He had already reached (y/n) and began a conversation by the time I got there. "Hello, miss (l/n). My name is Hank. This is Connor. We are here with the Detroit Police Department to talk to you about your colleague, Rhys."

(Y/n) glanced up at me. Her eyes were an enchanting (e/c) with lush eyelashes and a line of winged eyeliner on the top lids. Her matte blush lips curved into a slight smile. I looked away trying to not get distracted again.

Hank spoke up. "Don't mind him. He's just a bit shy."

(Y/n) snickered and answered with a silvery voice. "I can tell. So you want to talk to me about Rhys? Is something wrong?"

Hank looked at me. I didn't say anything. He looked back at (y/n). "Maybe we should go somewhere... a bit less busy for this discussion."

Her smile disappeared. "We can go to the break room and talk."

We followed (y/n) into the break room. She sat on one of the black couches, Hank and I sat on the other adjacent from it. She crossed one leg over the other and leaned forward. "Okay, now what happened with Rhys?"

Hank answered. "He murdered his roommate a couple of nights ago."

Her mouth dropped open. "What? I-I knew they were having issues, but to go that far... It's hard to believe."

I pitched in. "Having issues? What kind of issues?"

She looked at me. "Rhys always complained about how Mark treated him like he was still a household android. Made him cook and clean everything. I don't think he would've minded too much if he weren't paying half of the rent."

"Why didn't he just leave?"

She shrugged. "I offered to have him stay with me for a while, but he was insistent on staying there."

Hank spoke up. "That would be for his own reasons, I'm sure. He fled the scene, do you know of anywhere he would've gone?"

"Not a clue, but if you need help with anything else, let me know. As much as I care for him, I can't just let him wander around without punishment. What do you think will happen to him?"

I looked at Hank, but he didn't look back at me. I interrupted Hank before he could say anything. "We aren't sure. This is our first deviant murder case since the androids won equal rights. That means fair punishments as well."

"So he won't be shut down?"

"Probably not. It will most likely be imprisonment, especially since Mark was far from innocent."

She nodded to show that she understood. "Okay. I'll help in any way that I can."

I smiled. "Thank you, Ms. (l/n)."

She smiled back. "You can call me (y/n)."
