I sat back in my chair waiting for (y/n) to arrive. She suggested going shopping, which I of course agreed to. I got up and went to the restroom. I looked in the mirror to make sure my hair was styled properly and my clothes were straight. I gave myself a final glance to make sure I looked okay for when (y/n) got there, and I left the restroom.
When I began walking to my desk, I noticed that (y/n) had arrived... And Gavin was talking to her. He was standing far too close to her, and she looked uncomfortable. I felt a wave of unpleasant feelings rush over me as I made my way over to them. I grabbed (y/n)'s hand and started to walk away from Gavin, trying not to cause any conflict.
"Where do you think you're going, dipshit?" Gavin asked from behind us.
I stopped in my tracks and closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down.
"Finally protecting your little girlfriend, huh?"
(y/n) moved to stand in front of me. "Connor, just ignore him. He's not worth it. Let's go."
I opened my eyes to look at her and nodded. We started walking away again. "Hey, I'm talking to you!" Gavin yelled from behind us.
(y/n) held her arm up and flipped him off without looking back. I found it amusing, and a smile smile formed on my face. We quickly left the station and got into (y/n)'s car. "Well, you two clearly don't get along. Your LED was red back there. Are you alright?"
"I'm okay. I'm sorry."
She began driving. "No, don't be. He's a dick."
I glanced at her. "Do you know him?"
She hesitated. "Um... yeah. I met him once... When you were reset."
"Did he bother you then, too?"
She chuckled nervously. "Yeah... It's fine though. He wouldn't be the first one."
I scowled at the thought of the event. "It's not fine."
She gave me a calming smile. "Connor, it's okay. Let's just get you some clothes and have a good time together. Think about something else, don't let assholes like him get under your skin, okay?"
I nodded, but I couldn't seem to shake the thought of him standing so close to her.
My face must have shown my frustration, because (y/n) let out a heavy sigh. "Once we start walking around you'll forget all about it for awhile."
~Time Skip~
(y/n) and I arrived at the mall and went inside. She turned and faced me. "Are you ready for this? I've never helped a guy buy clothes, so I'm really excited." She did a little a hop.
I smiled. "Yes. I'm looking forward to a new experience."
"Great! Let's go!" She took my hand in hers and guided the way to one of the stores.
An android greeted us as we walked in. I gave her a small wave and continued to follow (y/n). She stopped at one of the racks and started moving the clothes around. "What do we have here..." She looked at the shirts, occasionally pulling one off of the rack and draping it over her arm.
"Would you like me to carry those?"
"Um... Would you mind? I'm just going to grab a couple more and then you can go try them on."
I smiled. "Of course I don't mind." She smiled back and handed me the shirts.
"You know, you can look at other stuff yourself."
"I don't know anything about clothes. I think I'll leave that to the expert."
She giggled. "I am by no means an expert on fashion, especially men's fashion. I'm just choosing what I think will look nice on you."
