(A/N: This in the same as the chapter cover, but I figured I'd add it in-text. The drawing looks kind of like this.)
I continued to admire the details of the drawing, but I was interrupted when I heard (y/n)'s voice behind me. "What are you looking at?"
I turned around and showed her the drawing. "Do you prefer me with a serious expression?" I asked, mimicking the facial expression on the drawing.
She gasped and her face turned red. "Connor! Give that to me!" She ran up to me and tried to grab the sketchbook from my hand. I held it in the air and used my height to my advantage. She put her hand on my chest to steady herself as she got on her toes to try and reach for the book. "Come on, Connor! Give it back!"
She pushed a bit too hard, and before we knew it, we lost balance and I was on my back with (y/n) leaning over me. I couldn't help but laugh. (y/n) pressed her face into my shoulder: she was also laughing as well as apologizing.
After we slowed our laughter, (y/n) propped herself up to look at me. My smiled dropped when I met her gaze. I reached up and tucked the fallen strands of her hair behind her ear and stared into her eyes. My thirium pump was going crazy and my LED went red. My eyes trailed down to look at (y/n) lips, then back up to her eyes. Her face turned a dark red and she averted her gaze. "Can I... have my sketchbook back?"
I nodded, unable to pull my gaze away from her face. I held the sketchbook up. "Y-yes... Here."
She hesitantly grabbed it and stood up, closing the book. I slowly got back up as well, straightening my jacket. (y/n) looked up at me, her face still a bit red. "Y-your hair... It's messed up."
"Oh. Do you have a mirror nearby?"
"Yeah." She pointed at the bathroom door behind her. "There's one in there."
"Thank you." I walked passed her and into the bathroom closing the door behind me. I ran my hand through my hair to put it back in place. My usual tuft of hair fell into place. I placed my hands on the counter and hunched over the sink. What is this feeling? Am I really falling in love with her? Maybe Hank was right. I held my hand over my racing thirium pump to try to slow it. How do I go about this situation? I stood straight and straightened my tie and jacket once again before exiting the bathroom.
(y/n) was sitting on the couch with her knees pressed against her chest and Pippin laying against her hip. I sat on the opposite side of the couch. She looked worried about something, but she spoke up before I could ask what was wrong. "I'm sorry."
I folded my hands in my lap. "No need to apologize. It was an accident. I shouldn't have teased you." We were quiet for a moment. I looked over at (y/n). She kept looking straight ahead. "(y/n)?" She looked over at me, still resting her cheek on her knee. I slightly smiled at her. "You are very talented."
She gave me a cute smile in return. "Thank you."
Another short silence. I thought for a moment. "I noticed that you have a gaming console. What kind of games do you like to play?"
She lifted her head. "All kinds. Do you want to play something?"
"You would have to teach me how, but sure."
She stood up and went to the TV. She kneeled down, turned on the console and the TV, and grabbed two controllers. She came back up to me and handed me one. I examined the controller. I had never seen one before. (y/n) pushed the power button on the top for me, and sat down next to me. She chose a game and selected the 'Create Characters' option then the '2 Players' option. The screen seemed to be split in half, each side showing a set of options.
(y/n) began to explain. "This where we will create our characters. First, it wants us to choose a class. Mage, Warrior, or Ranger." She moved a stick on her controller. "Use this to choose between them, see?"
I looked at the screen to see the different options lighting up as (y/n) moved the stick. I moved the same one on my controller, causing a different option to light up on my side of the screen. "Oh. Yes. I see. What does each option do?"
"Mages are characters that use magic; they can attack away from the enemies. Warriors use swords and axes and all that jazz; they have to use melee attacks. Rangers use bows and arrows and they have pets that will help in fights; they have ranged attacks like the mage, but their pet uses melee."
"Is any class better than the rest?"
"They all have their ups and downs. Just pick one."
"Okay." I chose a warrior. (y/n) chose a ranger.
After we finished customizing our characters, we got in game and (y/n) started to explain the controls. "So use that same stick to walk around. Each button is assigned to a different skill. Your skills are in the bottom left of your screen. That red bar is your health. If it gets low, use your healing spell."
We started playing the game. (y/n) laughed every time my character died. Her character had to keep bringing mine back to life. My character died a lot... "I'm starting to think that the ranger is superior."
She giggled and nudged my shoulder. "No, you're just really really bad at this. That's okay though. You just need to get the hang of it."
We played the game a little while longer until I noticed that it was 7:24 pm. "I should probably get back home to Hank. Some of his habits worry me."
(y/n) nodded. "Got it." She took my controller and turned off the console. We stood up and walked to the front door. "Next time, I'm taking you clothes shopping."
I tilted my head. "What is wrong with my current clothing?"
She inhaled sharply. "Oh. Right. I said that to the other Connor." She came up to me and touched my jacket. "I suggested that we get new clothes for you since this jacket still says 'android' on it."
I smiled and nodded. "Good idea."
"Then it's settled? We'll do that next time?"
"Sure."
"Great!" Pippin came up to me and jumped on my legs. (y/n) giggled. "Looks like someone came to say good night."
I kneeled down to pet the little corgi. "Good night, Pippin." I stood back up and gave (y/n) a kiss on the cheek. "And good night to you, (y/n)."
She looked like she was trying not to smile by biting her lower lip, but she was failing at it. "Good night, Connor."
