Freefall (Kakashi HatakeXOC Part1)

"I'm pregnant."

Kakashi didn't react, he only stood in front of me with a blank stare. I actually was expecting him to act in a manner like this, and I could even see the astonishment in his eye even though he hadn't replied yet. I've thought about us having a child before, but I wasn't really comfortable with the idea, not now even.

"What?" he says, barely above a whisper.

"I said, I'm pregnant," I repeated just as quiet,

"You're going to be a father."

Kakashi sits to my left, and says more so to himself,

"Me...a father?"

I only sat there and pressed my thumbs together nervously, unsure on how to soothe his shock. The best I could do was just let it sink in, and allow him to get used to the idea. Kakashi suddenly pulls me against his chest in a tight hug, he rests his head on top of mine while muttering the same thing,

"Me...a father."

I closed my eyes and relaxed in his embrace, he adds,

"I can't believe it."

I felt a small smile spread across my lips, I say quietly,

"Kakashi, I'm sorry I didn't tell you any sooner."

He shakes his head slightly,

"No, it's okay. More than okay actually. I'm...happy."

That smile faded from my face as I recalled what Amaya had told me, I pulled back some to look at him,

"Does this mean we're....going to keep it?"

Kakashi nods after a moment,

"Of course."

Ever since I told Kakashi I was pregnant, he hasn't left me alone. I've gotten to go home with him the day after the thunderstorm, but he insisted on me staying in the hospital for a bit longer. I refused, and told him I just wanted to go home already. He had me signed out and helped me back home, I still suck at using these crutches though.

I let out an annoyed groan as Kakashi adjusts the pillow under my right leg, he's been pestering me for two hours, constantly asking me questions and checking on me. He was supposed to be out training with the Genin, they were waiting for him out at the training field.

"Kakashi, go away. You're suffocating," I say while letting my head fall back against my pillow,

"Go train the Genin, you're already over an hour late to meet them."

"Just let me finish up adjusting your pillows, you've got to be comfortable," he replies while moving to the side of the bed to adjust the pillow under my head,

"I've been thinking about whether or not to tell them as well. I mean, we haven't even told them that we're together yet. Although I'm sure Sasuke knows by now."

I closed my eyes and reply quietly,

"Tell them whatever you want, I don't mind. Just make sure Naruto learns something useful today. Alright?"

I heard Kakashi hum in response, he was silent for a moment, which got me curious. I opened my eyes back just as he pulled his mask down and leaned in to press soft kisses around my face. Despite how much I wanted to take those kisses further, I pushed on his shoulder. He sighs quietly, but was smiling slightly nonetheless,

"Alright, alright. I'm going, I'll see you in a bit. Get some sleep."

A couple of weeks have passed by since then, and I've gotten my cast taken off. Which I was extremely happy about, because as soon as it was off, I was out running through the forest outside the village. I don't like not being able to move for long periods of time, so all that running made me feel great.

I didn't get to enjoy it for long though, because Kakashi had caught up to me and made me stop to rest. I cross my arms as he stands in front of me, blocking my path. I pout at him and say,

"Awww, come on. Just a little bit longer."

He shakes his head and replies,

"No, you've still got to take it easy. Especially now with your current condition. Don't you understand that? You can't be as reckless as you were before."

I stuck my tongue out at him, he sighs quietly and takes one of my hands in his own. He places both our hands on my abdomen and says quietly,

"Keira, you've got our child growing inside of you. You've got to start taking better care of yourself."

I could only stare down at our hands, I reply softly,

"I'm sorry."

He brings my hand up to kiss my knuckles lightly with masked lips. Kakashi lowers my hand slightly and says,

"It's fine, now come on. I'm taking you back to the village. I thought you might want to spend some time alone since I'm done with today's lesson with the Genin."

I felt my cheeks grow warm,

"Oh, well...you could have just said that then."
