A quiet yawn passes my lips as I watch Kakashi finish packing up our bags, we were about to leave the resort and head back to the Leaf. I have to admit, I'll miss this place; even the time we spent with Isao and Yuki. Kakashi sets my bag on the floor and comes over to me, he kneels down in front of me, his eyes on my stomach. I look at him and ask curiously,

"What are you doing?"

He doesn't reply, only simply lets his ear rest against my stomach gently. He's only done this one other time, yet I kind of wish he would do it a bit more often. A small smile finds its way to my lips as I bring my right hand up and run my fingers through his soft silver hair, my other coming up to rest on his shoulder. There was something about sitting in this position with him that made a feeling of butterflies spread through me, I'm not too sure why either.

Kakashi sighs quietly and says,

"I'm not going to let anything happen to either of you, you're the last ones I have left. You're too important to me to lose either of you, if I lost either of you, I'd-"

"Kakashi," I interrupt with sternness to my voice,

"Nothing's going to happen to us, I promise. And even if something does, I'm perfectly capable of dealing with it myself, ya know."

He pulls away from me some, it was then I saw his coal colored eye was filled with something I never liked seeing from him. Something I never wanted to see again, no matter the situation.

Sadness.

My expression softens a little at seeing this, he was still looking at my stomach, however. A quiet breath passes my lips, yet there's a smile now on my face as I continue,

"My point is, nothing will happen. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was scolding you or something."

He shakes his head slightly, he brings one of his hands up and places it on my stomach softly while replying,

"I know what you meant, I'm simply saying I want to keep both of you by my side. I want you to be with me until we grow old, but I'm sure you know how unlikely that will be with our current lifestyle."

"Just because we're ninja doesn't mean we can't grow old together," I say with that smile still on my face,

"I don't care about our lifestyle. It doesn't matter if we're ninja, or even senior citizens, I'm still going to be with you; there's no way you'll be able to get rid of me. Especially now, not with all we've been through."

My eyes shifted to the wooden box that was next to me on the bed, inside were Obito's goggles. I hadn't taken them out of the box in two days, ever since Kakashi gave them to me that's all I've done with them; I could only sit there and look over them, the memories of my Uchiha friend coming to my mind. All the good times, and even the bad. I thought it would be nice to give myself a break from those memories, so I've kept the goggles in their box.

"Well, we should get going. We've got to be getting back to the village soon, Tsunade's expecting us back within a few days," he says after a moment of silence,

"It may take us longer for the return trip because of your condition."

We had been travelling back to the leaf for about three days, and we should reach our destination tomorrow afternoon. It was already almost eight, so Kakashi had decided we should just stop now and start travelling again in the morning. We had come to a small village a little more than halfway between the Leaf and the resort we had previously been staying at. This village was pretty interesting, despite its small size. There was tons of different restaurants, and even a few hotels. I could tell it was mainly for people just passing through, and that the few residents that actually lived here were plenty friendly and almost carefree it seemed.

Kakashi had gotten us checked into one of the smaller hotels near the outside of the village, it was so we could get going right away when we had to leave. He was actually down in the lobby I think, he said he wanted to get more blankets because it would get colder at night. I noticed that despite all the activity around this village, their facilities didn't seem to be well insulated. Not that I minded, the cheerful attitude of this place made up for it, to me anyway.

I couldn't help but yawn as I lie back on the soft bed, I was starting to find it difficult to keep my eyes open. I was hoping to stay awake until Kakashi came back, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I shifted my position so I was lying on my side carefully, I put a hand over my stomach as my eyes slide closed. The last thing I heard before drifting off to sleep was the door to our room opening.

I couldn't help the smile that was plastered on my face as we approached the giant gates to the Leaf village, it had taken us some time, but we were finally home. Kakashi was a few paces behind me, carrying our bags. I told him I could manage carrying mine just fine, but he insisted he carry it. I didn't mind though, he was only doing it out of concern. We walked under the gates, my eyes scanned over the familiar surroundings as I tried to take it all in at once.

This is my home, the place I felt most comfortable. It wasn't always this way, and some days it still isn't. But as long as I've got Kakashi and all my other friends, I think I can manage fine.

"You know, we haven't really had much time to ourselves since we got back," Kakashi remarks as he sits next to me on our couch,

"I'm sure even you'd like to..reconnect, with one another."

I set my cup of tea on the small coffee table in front of us, then turn my head to give him a skeptical look while asking,

"Yeah? And, what do you plan on doing about it?"

He leans in a bit closer to me, a glint in his dark eye that already told me what he was thinking. We had been back for about a month now, meaning I was reaching six months into my pregnancy. My stomach has gotten somewhat bigger as well, only irking me more.

"I do have today off from missions," he starts off while reaching up and pulling his mask down, "We could always spend the day doing that. Although, we would have to be extremely careful."

Before I could get another word in, Kakashi presses his lips to mine in a gentle kiss. If not for the fact that I knew he was right and how much I wanted this, I would have been chewing him out to no end. It actually wasn't the first time he's done this, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last.

He breaks our soft kiss, but keeps his lips about an inch from mine. I could feel his warm breath fan over my lips as he asks,

"I'll take that as a yes then, correct?"

I simply nodded, I felt as if even trying to say yes wouldn't work for me. Kakashi gets up while holding tight to one of my hands, he pulls me up to my feet and we start heading back to the bedroom. Once there, he helps me get settled on the bed comfortably so I was lying on my back. Kakashi carefully props himself up by knees and elbows above me after a moment, I brought my arms up and draped them over his shoulders while he says quietly,

"Tell me if you need to adjust your position at any time, I don't want you getting cramped now."
