"excuze moi," lafayette speaks, "y/n eleanor laurens?" he seemed extremely confused.

you simply nod, not even daring to speak.

you were such an idiot, john had no way of knowing that you were going to go to new york, he must be mad at you.

"yeah," john says, "my little sister, who couldn't bother to write to tell me that she was going to new york, my little sister, that's underage." that seemed to be directed towards hercules, who looked away now.

"you never told us you had siblings john." alex? is that his full name?

lafayette nods and added, "alexandre is correct, mon ami, we had no way of knowing."

alexandre?

"your name is alexandre?" you blurt out without a second thought, almost giggling, because that was a funny name.

he glares at you, "it's alexander, a-l, e-x, a-n, d, e-r"

you splutter and turn to look at your older brother, john seemed amused, and so you spoke.

"he looked at me like I was stupid, I'm not stupid!"

and the room erupted into laughter, leaving you confused.

then john stops and stares alright at mr. a-l, e-x, a-n, d, e-r and lafayette

"by the way, where did you find my sister?"

alexander speaks, "I just found her with laf."

then john turns to look towards lafayette.

lafayette clears his throat, "mon ami, I found this ange in an alley being harassed by a man."

you see john's face turn red in anger, but you don't know who it's addressed towards.

so you pipe up, "lafayette beat the guy up."

that seemed to calm him down for a while, "thank you lafayette." he murmurs.

lafayette smiled at john, "you're welcome laurens."
